VoxIntake Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
VoxIntake is a Chrome extension and companion service for agents using 8x8 Contact Center. It helps transcribe calls and prepare intake questions, answers, and notes for the agent to review.
Information processed
When an agent enables Local Assist, VoxIntake captures audio playing in the supported 8x8 browser tab and audio from the agent's microphone. Audio is sent to the VoxIntake Local Assist service running on that same computer for local speech recognition. Audio is processed locally and is not sent to the developer. Uploaded recordings are also processed by the local service.
VoxIntake stores transcripts, speaker labels, timestamps, call metadata (which may include account or transaction identifiers), draft questions and answers, and notes in the agent's Chrome profile. These records are automatically deleted after 24 hours. The extension does not send exported files anywhere; an export is saved only when the agent chooses to export it. Audio is not intentionally saved by the local service.
Calls may contain personal information and, depending on what callers discuss, health or financial information. Agents and their employers are responsible for obtaining any required call-recording consent and following applicable policies and laws.
Optional ChatGPT connection
If an agent connects a ChatGPT account and selects ChatGPT for note generation, VoxIntake sends transcript text, speaker labels, timestamps, source type, and relevant intake details to OpenAI to prepare questions, answers, and notes. Call audio is not sent to OpenAI. OpenAI processes submitted text under the user's applicable account terms and privacy settings. ChatGPT sign-in tokens are stored encrypted on the agent's Windows computer and can be disconnected from VoxIntake.
Local processing and sharing
Call audio, transcripts, and drafts are processed or stored locally by default. VoxIntake does not operate cloud storage for call data, sell call data, use it for advertising, or send it to the developer. The only third-party transfer is the optional, agent-initiated transfer of transcript text to OpenAI described above. The extension uses a local connection to the companion service on the same computer.
Retention and controls
Agents can stop capture, disconnect ChatGPT, delete calls, and export a processed call. Local call history expires after 24 hours. Removing the extension or clearing its stored data removes the local history. Any exported copy is under the agent's control.
