Introduction
VoxCoach Team ("we," "us," or "our") operates the VoxCoach mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the App. By using VoxCoach, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We are committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about our data practices. This policy applies to all users of the App worldwide and is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Brazilian Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), and other applicable data protection regulations.
Information We Collect
Information you provide:
Display name: The name you enter during onboarding.
Apple ID credentials: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your first and last name from Apple. We do not receive your email address unless you choose to share it through Apple's Hide My Email feature.
Information collected automatically:
Voice recordings: Audio captured when you use the recording feature, stored temporarily on your device.
Voice transcriptions: Text generated from your recordings, processed by our AI coaching service.
Voice characteristics: Acoustic measurements derived on-device from your recording — average pitch, pitch variability, voiced-frame ratio, energy levels, pause patterns, and speech rate — used to ground the coaching analysis.
Detected spoken language: A language code returned by the transcription service for each session.
Session data: Coaching scores (pitch, pace, tone, articulation, energy), feedback, practice prompt used, and recording duration.
App preferences: Language, appearance, notification settings, big text preference.
Usage analytics: App open count, onboarding progress, paywall interaction timestamps.
Subscription status: Active subscription plan and purchase history, managed through RevenueCat.
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
Provide voice coaching analysis and personalized feedback.
Maintain your session history, progress tracking, streak calendar, and speaker level progression.
Manage your subscription and in-app purchases through RevenueCat.
Schedule practice reminders via local notifications.
Suggest contacts for invitations when you grant Contacts access.
Improve app performance and fix bugs.
Communicate with you about your account or subscription if needed.
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not build advertising profiles based on your voice recordings or coaching data.
Audio & Transcription Data
When you record a session and request analysis, two things happen:
Your audio recording is sent to the Rork Toolkit transcription service to be converted to text. The resulting transcript and a detected language code are returned to the App. If the cloud transcription is unavailable, the App falls back to the transcript produced on-device by Apple's Speech framework.
Acoustic measurements are computed on-device from your audio (pitch statistics, energy levels, pause patterns, speech rate). The transcript and these measurements are then sent to the Rork Toolkit AI coaching service for analysis. Your raw audio is NOT sent to the analysis step — only the transcript and the derived measurements.
The coaching scores and feedback returned by the analysis are stored locally in the App's database (SwiftData) so you can review past sessions.
Audio recordings are stored temporarily in your device's Documents directory during analysis and are deleted after you dismiss the results screen. We do not retain copies of your voice recordings or acoustic measurements on our servers after the request completes. The Rork Toolkit service processes your data in real-time and does not permanently store it.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
RevenueCat (subscription management): Processes and manages your in-app purchase subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect your subscription status, purchase receipts, and anonymized app usage data. Privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Rork Toolkit API (voice analysis): Two endpoints are used. (a) The speech-to-text endpoint receives your audio recording to produce a transcript. (b) The text-generation endpoint receives the transcript plus the acoustic measurements computed on-device (pitch, energy, pause, and speech-rate statistics) and returns coaching scores and feedback. Each request is initiated only when you tap Analyze. Privacy policy: https://rork.com/privacy
Apple Sign-In: Used for authentication. We receive only your name (first and last) from Apple. We do not receive your email address by default. Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
Apple Speech Framework: Provides on-device speech recognition during recording. The audio processed by this framework stays on your device and is not transmitted to Apple servers. The resulting transcript text is used as a fallback transcript that may be sent to the Rork Toolkit analysis endpoint if the cloud transcription is unavailable.
Contacts Framework (optional): Used only when you explicitly grant permission to import contacts for sending invitations. Contact names and phone numbers are used solely to populate invite suggestions and are not stored or transmitted to any server.
Data Storage & Retention
All session data (transcriptions, scores, feedback, streak history) is stored locally on your device using SwiftData, Apple's native data persistence framework. No session data is uploaded to or stored in a cloud database controlled by us.
Audio recordings are stored temporarily during analysis and deleted immediately after the coaching response is received.
Your display name is stored securely in the iOS Keychain. App preferences (language, appearance, notifications) are stored in the device's UserDefaults.
Data retention:
Session history: Retained indefinitely on your device until you delete the app or sign out.
Audio recordings: Deleted after each analysis session.
Usage analytics: Retained on-device for app functionality.
Subscription data: Managed by RevenueCat and Apple; we do not store payment information directly.
If you delete the App from your device, all locally stored data including session history, preferences, and your display name will be permanently deleted.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your data may be shared with:
RevenueCat: To manage subscription status and purchase verification (subscription data only).
Rork Toolkit API: Audio, transcription text, and on-device acoustic measurements (pitch, energy, pause, and speech-rate statistics) are transmitted only when you request voice analysis.
We may also disclose aggregated, anonymized data that does not identify you personally for analytical purposes.
We do not participate in data broker programs. We do not share your voice recordings or coaching feedback with any party other than the service providers listed above.
Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your information:
Your display name is stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's encrypted secure storage system.
All data stored on your device is protected by iOS device encryption (Data Protection).
Network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Audio recordings are processed over secure connections and are not stored on our servers after analysis.
While we strive to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use device passcodes and keep your iOS updated to benefit from the latest security improvements.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Right to access: You can view all your session history, scores, and feedback at any time within the App.
Right to deletion: You can delete your data by signing out (Settings > Sign Out) or by deleting the App from your device. Both actions permanently erase all locally stored personal data.
Right to data portability: You can share your session data using the built-in share features of iOS.
Right to opt out: You can revoke permissions at any time:

International Data Transfers
The App operates globally. If you use the App from outside the jurisdiction where our service providers operate, your data (specifically audio sent for analysis and subscription data) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
We ensure that any cross-border data transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and compliance with applicable data protection frameworks. RevenueCat and the Rork Toolkit service each maintain their own data protection and compliance measures. Please review their privacy policies for details on their international data practices.
Children's Privacy
VoxCoach is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately using the email addresses below, and we will take steps to delete such information.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations, we do not require users to disclose their age, and we do not use the App to collect information from children for commercial purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and make the updated version available within the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
