Meet Emmanuel

Emmanuel Dockter is running to represent the 5th Plymouth District as State Representative, serving the towns of Hanover, Norwell, and Rockland.

Emmanuel is a former Selectman for the Town of Hanover – the community where he and his wife, Heidi, are raising their three children, Abby, Henry, and Ethan.

Emmanuel understands the importance of hard work and perseverance. His dad died when he was young and his mother raised him and his five brothers as a single parent, working three jobs to put food on the table while cycling in and out of poverty – experiencing homelessness and getting support from welfare and food stamps.

When Emmanuel was 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps, honorably serving his country. After that, he worked for the US Department of Defense, and put himself through college at the University of Maryland and law school at Boston University School of Law with the help of the GI Bill.

Since then, Emmanuel has built a small business on the South Shore and worked to improve his community through active engagement as Chair of the Hanover Master Plan Committee, Vice-Chair of the Advisory Committee, and Chair of the Board of Selectmen.

Throughout Emmanuel’s life and career, he has experienced firsthand how public service can impact one’s life. He knows that we need elected officials willing to put partisanship aside to work together on the real issues impacting South Shore residents:

- investing in our public schools.

- creating jobs and economic opportunities.

- combating the opioid epidemic.

- reducing traffic by investing in transportation infrastructure.

- standing up for seniors and fellow veterans.

- providing top-notch constituent services.
