Vortex ("the app") is a paranormal investigation toolkit. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
DATA COLLECTION
Vortex does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
All data the app creates — including photos, videos, audio recordings, session snapshots, and sensor readings — is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is uploaded to any server. The developer has no access to your data.
PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
The app requests the following device permissions solely to power its features:
Camera — used for the investigation camera modes (VLS, Apparition, Grid, Night Vision, Aura). Captured media is saved to your device only.
Microphone — used for the EVP recorder and audio capture during video recording. Recordings are saved to your device only.
Location — used to display GPS coordinates on the Environment telemetry tile. Coordinates are shown on screen only and are never stored or transmitted.
Storage / Media — used to save your captured photos, videos, and recordings to the app's evidence vault on your device.
Sensors — motion, magnetic field, barometer, light, and other sensor readings are displayed live on screen and are never stored or transmitted.
PURCHASES
The app offers an optional one-time purchase or subscription via Google Play Billing. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google. The app never sees, stores, or processes your payment details. Google's own privacy policy applies to the transaction.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party data processors. A link to an external Facebook group is provided; visiting it is optional and subject to Facebook's own privacy policy.
CHILDREN
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL.
