Volume Controller Launcher ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a home-screen launcher that gives you quick volume controls, a volume booster, audio tools and an at-a-glance date and weather view. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, media, files, call logs or messages.
We do not sell your personal information.
The App shows ads and an optional weather view, which rely on a few third-party services described below.
1. Approximate or precise location (optional — for weather only).
The weather feature needs a location to show the forecast for your area.
If you grant location permission, the App uses your device location to fetch local weather.
If you do not grant permission, the App falls back to an approximate location derived from your internet (IP) address.
Your location is used only to retrieve weather information and is not stored by us or used for any other purpose.
2. List of installed apps.
As a launcher, the App reads the list of apps installed on your device so it can display them in the app drawer and on the home screen. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
3. Advertising data.
The App is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Google may collect and process device information and an advertising identifier to provide and measure ads. See "Advertising" below.
4. App settings.
Your preferences (such as volume, boost and layout settings) are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us.
5. Search queries (only when you use the drawer search bar).
If you type in the app drawer's search bar and web search is enabled, your search text is sent to the web search provider you have selected (for example Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Startpage or Kagi) to return results and autocomplete suggestions. Your searches are handled by that provider under its own privacy policy. You can change or turn off the web search provider in the App's settings. App searches (such as matching app names) are performed on your device.
6. Accessibility service (optional — only for gestures you enable).
If you turn on a gesture that needs it (such as double-tap or swipe to lock the screen), the App uses Android's accessibility service only to perform that action (for example, locking the screen). It does not read, collect, store or share the content of your screen or other apps.
7. Device and technical information.
When the App or its third-party services make network requests, standard technical data (such as IP address and basic device information) may be processed by those services to deliver their functionality.
To provide volume controls, the volume booster and audio tools.
To show the local date and weather.
To return results when you search from the app drawer.
To display the app drawer and home screen.
To show ads that keep the App free.
To respond to support requests you send us.
The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob / Google Play Services (ads): https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Firebase: used for app configuration and services — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Open-Meteo (weather data): your approximate coordinates are sent to fetch the forecast — https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
BigDataCloud (city name lookup): coordinates are sent to obtain a place name — https://www.bigdatacloud.com/privacy-policy
ipwho.is / GeoJS (approximate location from IP, used only when location permission is not granted).
We share only the minimum data needed for each service to work (for example, coordinates to fetch weather). We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may use an advertising identifier and device data to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can control this:
Reset or delete your advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
You can limit ad personalization in your device's advertising settings.
Learn more and opt out: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Settings are kept on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
We do not operate servers that store your personal data.
Data handled by third-party services is retained according to their own policies.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address it.
Location: grant or revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Volume Controller Launcher → Permissions.
Notifications: enable or disable in Android notification settings.
Ads personalization: reset your advertising ID as described above.
Uninstall: you can remove the App at any time to stop all data access.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct or delete it, and to object to or opt out of certain processing (such as personalized advertising).
EEA/UK (GDPR): for personalized advertising where consent is required, you can manage your ad preferences through your device's advertising settings. Our lawful basis for providing the App's features is our legitimate interest.
California (CCPA) and similar U.S. state laws: we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. You may request access to or deletion of your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@beetabyte.com. You can also control ad personalization through your device's advertising settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
