Vivekananda Nursery and Primary School

With the humble beginning in the year 1992, we started the school to provide quality education at par with global standards to rural children. It was all started with 35 students and 3 teachers and currently grown to 500+ students and 30+ teachers and staff.

As a testimony to our quality education, Vivekananda Nursery & Primary School was recognized and approved (vide approval order no. : 3577/2003) by School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai in the year of 2002. We feel proud that we were the very first school in our area to get government recognition and approval.

Few of our milestones,

• Provided safe Transport facility to the students in the year of 2000 on contractual basis. In the year 2002, we started to provide safer, reliable and economical transport with our own fleet.

• Established Computer Lab in 2001 with 10 computers for the students. First school in the entire region to establish computer lab with Microsoft Windows 98 & MS-DOS system.

• Library was started in 2001 with good variety and high quality book collections. Now library has nearly 5000 books covering all subjects.

• Recognition and approval from School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. First school in our area to get such recognition from government.

• Model class was started in 2005. Only limited number of students are enrolled in Model classes and Montessori method of teaching was adopted.

• Montessori method of teaching was adopted in all the classes from 2007 with the aid of in-house developed materials.

• Montessori materials procured from direct and online sellers across the country and also from the world renowned manufacturers. Even today, it keeps on going.

• Wi-Fi enabled zone in 2010 for faster and smarter internet connectivity.

• Smart Class was started in 2011 with state-of-the-art LCD projector, interactive touch screen and sound system.

• CCTV cameras installed in 2013 campus to ensure the safety of the students and 24x7 remote surveillance.

• Tab lab was started to quench the thirst of digital & internet era in 2013 with 10 tablet PCs powered by internet to access the digital educational contents, Wikipedia etc.

• Mottu ("Bud" translated to Tamil) was started in 2014 which focuses on children's with Dyslexia and other learning disorders.

• Celebrated Silver Jubilee in 2017. A fully furnished, modern block was opened as a part of Silver Jubilee celebrations.

• Smart TVs in 2019 enabled four classrooms for better teaching and learning process. The students will be able to access several digital educational contents available in the internet.
