This app works on rooted and non-rooted android devices. However, for non-rooted devices, every time after you reboot, you will have to connect your device to a Windows PC or Mac using a USB cable, then run a free desktop program, VMLite Android App Controller, to start the server on your device. Once the server is started, you can disconnect your device.

When there is no WIFI available, e.g., at work place, your android device will most likely have a 3G/4G network IP address, unfortunately, almost all wireless service providers do not allow server ports to be visible from outside world, and thus the vnc server running on your device won't receive any connections. In this case, you can try to use USB connection.

Connect your device to a PC or Mac with USB, then launch this VMLite Android App Controller program, click USB Connect button, you will be asked to specify the port number of the vnc server running on your device. The port number should be same as that displayed on our VMLite VNC Server app on your device. The default port number is 5901 for vnc viewers, 5801 for browser connections.

If you are having problems with USB connection, and observes adb server out of date message, that indicates a conflict between different versions of Android Debug Bridge (adb), which causes USB connection not to work.

In this case, you either kills the adb from HTC, or use HTC's adb, and run the following from a command window, make sure you change the path according to your installation: "c:\program files\HTC Sync 3.0\adb.exe" kill-server"c:\program files\HTC Sync 3.0\adb.exe" forward tcp:5901 tcp:5901"c:\program files\HTC Sync 3.0\adb.exe" forward tcp:5801 tcp:58013, Android USB Connection Mode: MTP/PTPIf you can't start VMLite VNC Server on your device, for example, Samsung S3, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, etc., you need to change to Camera Device mode.

VMLite VNC Server is a free, open source, cross platform, secure, and easy to use VNC server app. You can use it to view the contents of your android phone or tablet from a desktop computer or from another mobile device.

It can work in a variety of scenarios, including from a Wi-Fi hotspot, a local area network, and an Internet connection. It can also work without the need for root on the device, but with the optional option to install the app as a server and root its internal storage, you can also run the server as a regular service.

I have a problem with connection the android emulator with eggplant. I am using the virtual machine with installed android 4.0. I can not run the VNC server. Application (VNC) has root privileges. Has anyone tried to connect in this way? If so, please help.

I want a direct connection between a virtual machine and eggplant. The device is rooted. I checked several VNC servers, but none of them works. On your web site is information about the possibility of using the virtual machine with android. I would like to know how to configure it. I do not want to connect to the host. For my needs this solution works too slowly.

www.powerdial.co.uk RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale Jonamerica (IS/IT--Management)11 Nov 04 15:47Ok, so what I did was set the server to the key server (we don't have a VM server) and rebooted the IPO, which worked; however, I changed the time by one minute (just for giggles) and left manager open all night and the IPO never updated the time.

I'm interested in this short code, what would be the exact syntax? RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale jonnyGURU (IS/IT--Management)11 Nov 04 16:10The 44XX phones have internal clocks. Once they get a time from the IP Office, they run on their own accord. I've often had phone have different times on them, even though they're all plugged into the same switch. The fix? A reboot. Dispensing quality rants and mishaps since 1999: RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale jonnyGURU (IS/IT--Management)11 Nov 04 16:12Dave: I haven't seen that shortcode synch any phones. If I have a short code that uses the VMPro's talking clock, it just tells me the time according to the VM Server. The clock on the phone doesn't change unless I unplug the phone or reboot the IPO.

Jon: If you don't have a VM Server, you can't use VMPro's talking clock since Voicemail Pro runs on a Voicemail Server. ;)

I have just installed an IPO with 30 pot phones and VMPro.

When I set up the VM server the time on it was wrong, so after changing the time I put in the short code for the talking clock and dialed the talking clock.

As well as telling the time according to the voicemail server the IPO Instantly changed it's time to that of the VM server.

So will the short code that gives you the talking clock only work with VMPro ? or can you use that short code in VMLite.

VMpro only m8

I think its also worth pointing out that if you do not specify a time server in the IPO programming the systems initiates a broadcast for a time server and usually the customers Unix servers respond first giving the time usually in GMT-0 , regardless of whether manager or VM is running.. RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale jonnyGURU (IS/IT--Management)12 Nov 04 20:01Dave: If you using POT's then obviously we're talking about two different things. IP Office phones fon't re-synch themselves. I thought you were talking about using the Talking Clock to resynch the phones. Now that I've re-read your post, I see you're just talking about synchronizing the IP Office to the VM Server. Personally, I've never had that problem because as soon as I fire up Manager, it synchronized. I just wish the phones would get there time from the IPO instead of using their internal clocks.

Dispensing quality rants and mishaps since 1999: RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale kristiandg (Programmer)13 Nov 04 23:27Has anyone set up the IPO to sync time from an NTP server? We did that and it didn't change. Most of our sites don't have a VM server so we want a centralized method (the same as our PCs and Routers use).

Thoughts?

Kris RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale intrigrant (Systems Engineer)14 Nov 04 08:44Hi kristiandg, i have posted some details regarding timeservers in another discussion earlier, that might give you a hand. RE: Daylight Saving: Setting Time/Locale sdacm (IS/IT--Management)6 Sep 05 15:30Is there any possible way to get 44XX phones to refresh their time from the IP Office other then rebooting or unplugging the phone? I've noticed a number of our 44XX phones are not time-synced with the correct time (i.e. many of them are about 5 minutes fast).

This is important for us because we have VM Pro script that uses a condition editor to send calls to group night messages. Many of the hunt groups also have queuing turned on and what has occurred is a call will come in at 5:00pm CDT IPO/VM Pro time, but agents phones will be 5:05 and all agents will be logged out. The call then goes into the queue and gets abandoned. Bad! Other then making agents use a time source other then phones I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to force 44XX phones to refresh their time against the IPO. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1406030581151-2'); }); Red Flag This PostPlease let us know here why this post is inappropriate. VMLite VNC Server allows the remote view and control of android phone or tablet from a desktop computer or from another mobile device using the popular VNC protocol. This app works on rooted and non-rooted android devices. However, for non-rooted devices, every time after a reboot, a re-connecting of the device to a Windows PC or Mac using a USB cable, then run a free desktop program, VMLite Android App Controller, to start the server on the device has to be done. Once the server is started, the device can be disconnected.

See and control your computer's desktop from your phone, from anywhere. androidVNC is the Open Source (GPL) remote desktop program for Android devices. Connects to most VNC servers: incl TightVNC, RealVNC on Win and Linux, x11vnc, and Apple Remote Desktop on OS/X.

Currently the way the VMlite VNC server and their app for the local machine they're connected to via USB allows VNC access to the machines over the USB connection. This connection is accessible to the local machine via the network address:

So my question is the following:How do I set up the machine so that I can forward traffic from the USB ports to be accessible across the network?Alternatively is there some kind of browser plugin that allows me to open webpages as if I was viewing them from a different machine on the network?(keep in mind that a typical proxy server set up did not work, as browsing to http ://localhost seems to cause problems)

Looking for low hanging fruit, we find a host machine running an interesting web server on TCP port 8080, a port commonly used for administrative purposes. Using Firefox, we can connect to the server via HTTP over TCP port 8080.
