There are a lot of new android emulators, and updates for the older ones since I last did anything like this a few years ago so I was curious which one was actually the fastest one now. Wasn't sure where to share this, but a quick google showed that this sub had the most reddit threads related to this topic.. so maybe you guys will appreciate this.

Mumu 6 and Mumu X Beta all scored great as well. In the same ballpark as LD player. Sure one or the other is slightly faster but I would put it all in the same tier of performance. Mumu 6 runs on android 6 but will be more stable, this is likely better for older games, while Mumu X is running on android 12 and will have the best support for newer games. LD Player is running on Android 9 and is probably best used for older games as well, but is also more likely to be more stable than Mumu X. Strangely enough, I found the graphics to look different between Mumu and LD Player. Mumu has a softer, foggier look, that is light in color, LD player has a more contrasty, saturated, darker look. I found an image comparison that perfectly captures my experience, that you can see here: MuMu vs LDPlayer - Punishing Gray Raven - Imgsli. Credit u/NeraiChekku, source _source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3. Probably the difference of Mumu using Vulkan over OpenGL.

My highest recommendations go to Mumu X and LD Player for sure, these are the only ones I will be keeping installed for myself. LD Player and Mumu 6 are the fastest stable releases but LD player's Android is 3 versions higher. Mumu X manages to keep that same performance, while being the only contender here to support Android 12, making it the best choice for any newer games that might need newer apis to run well, with the caveat of it still being a beta release. Since there's no best one size fits all, and different emulators will run better for different games I like the idea of keeping at least two different emulators, then you can use whichever one will work better for your specific game.

I tried to find another benchmark to compare LD Player with Mumu X. What worked on LD player wouldn't work on Mumu X.. and vice versa. Until I found unreal system benchmark. Here are the results I got running the test on the epic setting. Not super meaningful results, they're both around the same speed, with mumu x being slightly faster. Biggest difference was the visual difference I talked about above.

You need to configure your THEOplayer license, if you don't enter this license string, you might encounter licensing issues (e.g.: when trying to play non-whitelisted video streams).First, obtain a THEOplayer Android SDK license through the THEOplayer Developer Portal at

In the AndroidManifest.xml we can disable the default orientation behavior on our MainActivity and lock it in portrait.

Then, because we enabled fullscreen orientation coupling with the setFullScreenOrientationCoupled(true) method earlier, THEOplayer will take care of the support of seamless landscape activity transition at rotation.

In order for THEOplayer to work properly and in sync with the Activity lifecycle changes (e.g. when we rotate the device or start a new Activity or the app goes to background). We need to call the "onResume", "onPause" and "onDestroy" methods of the THEOplayerView when the matching methods are called in the Activity.

The feature you describe was on by default when I checked. I turned it off and restarted, then tried playing music to verify (no controls present on lock screen). Then I turned it back on and restarted the phone with the same result.

However, I noticed when I swiped on my lock screen in a different way, the voice recorder widget appeared (which was a separate issue or so I thought because it kept doing this randomly). From there I went into the Lock Screen > Widgets menu, and turned ON the "Music" widget. Previously I had assumed that this was for Samsung's internal music player app only, which could be why it was turned off. It also may have been turned off by default upon upgrading to Android 12.

Turning on this widget allowed the Spotify widget/notification with playback controls to appear on the lock screen when music is playing, and for a short time after pausing a track. I am not sure if this is correct functionality (which is why I am hesitant to mark this as a solution), but it seems to at least be a workaround for my issue.

Hi, everyone!

Thanks for posting your experiences. We understand how frustrating this issue can be and we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We'd like to confirm that Pandora playing audible music at restart has been resolved with the release of 2308.1.1. This release is available to all Android listeners. If you haven't yet updated, please see the steps below to update to the latest version.

On a separate, but related note, we are aware of an issue where the player notification may appear even when the app is not open. We'd like to clarify that the player notification is a separate issue from the music audible playing from above. We'd like to stress that while the player notification may appear, the Pandora app may not be open or playing music.

If you're experiencing the player notification, we're happy to pass this along to our engineering team who are investigating this problem.

Please let us know the following information:

In the meantime, after further investigation, we've found a forum on the Samsung Community where users were having a similar issue with the player notification. This may be a common issue among Samsung users. Some users were able to resolve this issue by adjusting their notification settings on their Samsung. You can view the solution by visiting the Samsung Community to see if these changes will help you.

My screenshot looks exactly like Lost-In-Sedona's on the bottom. To cope until it gets fixed, I have the notification minimized. It's not big anymore and not a pop up on the top part of my screen where notification icons would be but it's still there in the notification screen. Has someone been able to recieve my android info from the email? As I had mentioned previously, they directed me back to here.

When it comes to a player that strives to be as true to the source as can be, it is tough to find one that stands taller than Neutron Music Player. The app works on Android, IOS, and even Windows platforms with a consistent look and feel. For any of us that are working across any or all of these platforms, this may be the only one that bridges them all.

Foobar2000 is a well-known player from the Windows PC world, with a massive amount of plug-ins and customizable options. There is a mobile version of the player (currently free) that is a very simple design that works well for local library media, as well as having support to access local network media servers.

The design focus is on simplicity. The browse tree is text based and very straight-forward. The Now Playing screen is also quite simple, with large album art, a seek bar, Song/Artist/Album tags, and basic controls for play/pause, track up/down, shuffle, and repeat. There is a handy option to also display the next track, including a small thumbnail of the cover - this is a nice touch that other players don't often have.

There are minimal preference settings to adjust, mostly focused on some DSP options, Replaygain, and some view options for the library and browser. There is also an option for skinning the player, although there have been few packages distributed that I have found outside of what is in their forum.

But being simple in design doesn't take away from the strength of foobar2000 Mobile. As a cross-platform player, it performs remarkably well. Performance is very snappy, and it plays virtually any file format on any device.

Poweramp is yet another Android-only music player app that I will share some thoughts on based on my experience. It has a huge download base, and had been actively developed for a very long time. It is currently in it's third major revision, and in my opinion is one of the best looking UI's available. And for those with premium devices that support hi-res playback with built-in or eternal DAC's, this is a serious contender as one of the best.

Overall:

Poweramp is a well-built player for modern Android devices. It checks almost all of the boxes for sound quality, and the UI is robust and quick. The few minor critiques will likely be addressed in future development updates. If you are on an Android device and haven't taken Poweramp for a spin, I highly recommend it. ff782bc1db
