Vivian K. Rysdyk


Bio:

Born in Glen Cove, Long Island, Vivian Rysdyk is a senior at SUNY Old Westbury pursuing a bachelor's in Politics, Economics & Law. Vivian understands the importance of politics and this is evident through the fact that she was a staff member for Joe McDermott's campaign as Suffolk County Legislator. Leadership is one of her strong qualities as she helped manage a team of canvassers while working on Mr. McDermott's campaign.


She attended Glen Cove High School, and participated in activities such as Select Chorale, NYSSMA (All-State), Theater, Track and Field, and Cross Country. She then transferred to St Mary's Catholic High School where she was also apart of the theater program there. She performed in productions such as Grease playing Rizzo, or the female version of the Odd Couple playing Olive, the female version of Oscar. She graduated St. Mary's in 2015, and started at Nassau Community College for two years studying Psychology before transferring to SUNY Old Westbury.


Vivian aspires to be a Political Coordinator. Political Coordinators are responsible for empowering their organization or interest group in the legislative process, at the ballot box and at their work sites. Some responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships with elected officials, assisting with the work of the organization, political field activities, lobby visits, phone banking and events for policy, as well as legislative and electoral participation campaigns at the local, regional and national level.
