Vizio Remote VERIFIED

Has anyone else got the same delayed response to volume up/down remote control changes? I have had this since day one, the firmware etc is all up to date. The delay is ~10-15 seconds at times, before it is echoed correctly on the screen as a change. This primarily happens with Smartcast apps, NETFLIX, Prime and Disney. There is no difference between the vizio remote, and an apple TV remote, same delay.

I was wondering if this worked for you floridarv? I tried it with my 32" Vizio and it didn't work. I did some more research and was reading that the TV Input button on DirecTV remotes just do not work with Vizio TVs. Was this the case with you?

I did a lot of internet researching to figure this out and I was trying my best to find an answer more recent than 2008! Luckily, I was able to find the answers I needed to get all the functions working on my Directv remote. Now, I have the basic model of remote and receiver but I believe these codes are universal. For my 32" Vizio LCD I used the code 11758 to enable the TV WITHOUT the "TV Input" function. To enable that function, I had to use the same process to enable the tv with Select and Mute but the next code I input was 960. This enabled the TV input and I couldn't have been more relieved. I've got an older Vizio m322i-b1 which I just set up with a Chromecast with YouTubeTV. However I can't seem to get the voice remote to work with it- I've gone through all 8 if the Vizio codes. Any tips or suggestions?

If the same issue persists, I'd suggest you try to reach out to your TV manufacturer to check if they have additional recommendations as this could be a compatibility issue with your TV. After the latest tvOS update my Vizio TV remote no longer controls my Apple TV. I was actually surprised when I noticed that it was able to do that when I got my new TV, but then after a couple of weeks and an update it no longer works. I tried learning the remote but the Apple TV couldn't see it at all.

Actually, it was all my fault! I recently got a new Bluray player and I noticed that when I turned it off the TV turned off as well. I went into the system settings on the TV and turned the CEC off. The TV then no longer turned off when the Bluray player was shut down. It was a couple of days afterward when I noticed the TV's remote no longer controlled the Apple TV, but then it dawned on me: Maybe it's that CEC setting. And, of course, it was! Duh!

The problem is, the volume-down button won't work. Then,when you complete the setup process, NONE of the buttons work, and I have to unplug the Roku stick,take the batteries out of the remote,and start all over.

Some people with problems setting their Voice Remotes up to control their TV functions have reported success by connecting to an alternate network, like a phone's wifi hotspot for instance, and configuring the remote for the tv while on this alternate network. Once set up, they could then connect back to their normal network.
