Since November 2021 I have been appointed judge at the Italian Corte dei Conti.

Before I was full professor of banking and finance at DEMS and vice director of the Center for European Studies CefES at Bicocca University.

After my PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics LSE, I have been one year post-doc at IGIER at Bocconi University and six-month Human Capital Mobility post-doc at IDEI in Toulouse. In my past, I have been assistant professor in economics at Università Statale di Milano and associate professor in economics at Bicocca University; I have spent one year as visiting researcher at the Financial Markets Group FMG at the London School of Economics and recently, visiting researcher at the Bank for International Settlement BIS at Basel and at the Bank of Finland BoF at Helsinki.

My research is in the area of the microeconomics of banking, industrial organization, corporate finance and banking regulation. I have published my papers in the European Economic Review, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Financial Stability and Small Business Economics.

Recently I have analyzed the remuneration of CEOs in banks (here the Column in VOX EU).
