Vitaiko is a personal mobile assistant for keeping important dates, reminders, gift ideas, greetings and gift history.
This Privacy Policy explains what data the app processes, what it is used for, and what rights you have.
You can add or import the following data yourself:
a person's name;
the type of relationship;
date of birth;
name day;
anniversary;
interests;
notes about the person;
a Nova Poshta address;
gift history;
reminder settings;
avatar color;
a person's photo (from the device gallery or from a phone contact).
This data is entered by you voluntarily or imported from your phone contacts after you grant permission.
The app may request access to your phone contacts.
Contact access is used only so that you can quickly import people into the app.
The app may read a contact's name and date of birth, if the contact has one. If a contact has no birth date, the person can be added with a "Date needed" mark.
Contacts are not sent to the developer's server. Import works locally on the device.
The app only reads contacts for import: it does not modify, delete or create entries in your phone book.
During import the app may copy a contact's photo (if any) into the person's profile. The photo is stored locally on the device in compressed form and is not transmitted anywhere.
The app's core data is stored locally on your device.
At this stage the app does not use its own server to store people, dates, notes, gift history or reminders.
You are responsible for the security of your device, your screen lock, backups and other people's access to the device.
Android may automatically include the app's data in a device backup (Google, and on some devices also manufacturer services such as Samsung Cloud) and restore it after the app is reinstalled or on a new device.
Such a backup is stored in your account (for example, in Google Drive), is encrypted by the platform and is not accessible to the developer.
You are in control: backup can be turned off in your device's system settings (the "Backup" section).
In Settings you can save all of the app's data (people, dates, events, gift history, photos) to a single file and restore it later or on another device.
The file is created locally on the device. The app does not upload it anywhere: you choose where to put the copy in the system "Share" sheet (for example Files, Google Drive, a messenger).
Once the file is passed to another service or app, it leaves Vitaiko's control and is governed by that service's terms. The backup file is not encrypted, so you are responsible for where you keep it and who you give access to.
Restore reads only the file you explicitly select; data from the file is added to what you already have. The developer is not involved in this process and has no access to backup files.
With your separate permission, the app may add important dates (birthday, name day, anniversary) to your device's system calendar.
The created events are stored in your calendar and may be synced by the service that runs that calendar (for example, Google Calendar). These events are not transmitted to the developer.
Calendar access is used only to add these dates, not to read or analyze your other events.
The app may create local push notifications on the device.
Notifications may contain a person's name and the type of event, for example a birthday, name day or anniversary.
You can turn reminders off in the app settings or in your device's system settings.
The app does not use push notifications for advertising or marketing.
At this stage the app does not collect or transmit to the developer:
location;
photos or videos (a person's photo that you add to a profile yourself is stored only locally and is not transmitted anywhere);
messages;
browsing history;
payment data;
advertising identifiers;
behavioral analytics;
your full contact list to the developer's server.
The app does not sell personal data to third parties and does not use advertising SDKs.
The app may be distributed through Google Play. Google may process technical data in accordance with its own Google Play rules and the Google Privacy Policy.
The developer may receive limited technical information through the Google Play Console, for example install data, errors or crash reports, where the platform provides such data.
In the future the app may have AI features for generating gift ideas or texts.
If such a feature is added, it may require transmitting some of the data you enter to an AI proxy or a third-party AI service. In that case this Privacy Policy will be updated and you will be told exactly what data is transmitted and for what purpose.
AI service API keys are not stored in the app.
You can delete data by:
deleting an individual person in the app;
clearing the app's data in Android system settings;
uninstalling the app from the device.
On Android the system may offer to keep the app's data during uninstall. If you choose to keep the data, some local data may remain on the device in accordance with the operating system's rules.
If system backup is enabled on the device, data may be restored automatically from the backup after the app is reinstalled. To remove it permanently, turn off backup for the app or clear the app's data in system settings before uninstalling.
Data is kept locally until you delete it yourself or clear the app's data.
Because at this stage the developer does not store this data on its own server, the developer has no direct access to your local data.
The app uses standard mechanisms for storing data on the device. Data is kept in the app's standard storage without additional encryption, so its protection depends on your screen lock and other device security settings.
We do not recommend storing highly sensitive information in notes, such as passwords, documents, financial data or medical information.
The security of local data also depends on your device settings.
Depending on your country of residence, you may have rights regarding personal data, in particular:
the right to know what data is processed;
the right to correct data;
the right to delete data;
the right to restrict processing;
the right to withdraw consent;
the right to lodge a complaint with a competent authority.
Because the core data is stored locally, you can carry out most of these actions yourself in the app or through your device settings.
The developer has no technical access to your local data and therefore cannot, on request, view, correct or delete it — you perform these actions yourself. The developer responds to questions about this Policy and data processing within 30 days.
The app may be available to users in different countries. Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data (everything is stored locally on your device), the rights below are satisfied trivially for us.
European Union (GDPR). The right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, data portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Storing relatives' data for personal, household purposes falls under the household exemption (Art. 2(2)(c) GDPR).
United States (state privacy laws). The right to know what data is processed, to correct, delete and port it, and to opt out of the sale of data. We do not sell personal data. In California (CCPA/CPRA) you also have the right to opt out of "sharing" (cross-context behavioral advertising) and to limit the use of sensitive data — we do not engage in such sharing and do not use advertising SDKs.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor opt-out signals such as GPC. Because we do not sell or share data, this is a formality for our app.
You will never be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
You may add information about other people to the app.
Storing information about relatives, friends and acquaintances for personal, household purposes is household data processing: under the laws of many countries (in particular the GDPR) such processing for personal or household purposes does not fall under the requirements for data controllers.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to store such data for personal use and that you do not use it unlawfully.
The app is not intended for children under 13 (or an older age where required by the laws of your country of residence).
The developer does not collect any data from users — all data is stored locally on the device, so the developer does not receive, does not store and technically cannot obtain children's data.
Supervision of a child's use of the device is the responsibility of parents or legal guardians.
The developer may update this Privacy Policy.
A new version is published in the app, on the website, or in the app's description. The update date is shown at the top of the document.
