Zero Gravity Operations
You asked a BabCom terminal for information about Yellow Sector...
Yellow Sector includes the Zero-G Dock and Tachyon Relay to the north, the Spinal Collar and the Fusion Reactor to the south of the station. The Defence Grid is also situated along the Spinal Collar. The zero-gravity docking bays may be visited by anyone with a Docker's Guild permit; but other parts of Yellow Sector are restricted to Babylon 5 maintenance crews and Military personnel.
Places to Visit
Zero-Gravity Dock: Over half of the cargo arriving at Babylon 5 is shipped through the Zero-G Dock at the northernmost part of the station, where stabilizer arms extend to control the approach of large freighters.
Hazardous Materials: Hazardous liquids and gases are stored in a special holding facility, where they can cause least damage if the tanks are accidentally ruptured.
Tachyon Relay: All hyperspace communications to and from Babylon 5 are transmitted through the deep space communications grid, which houses the tachyon relay.
Micro-Gravity Maintenance: Engineering works that are best undertaken in zero-gravity conditions are performed here in the Micro-Gravity Maintenance Bay.
Defence Grid: Babylon 5 has enough defensive firepower to defeat a hostile warship. The Defence Grid is installed all along the static Spinal Collar for stability and targeting.
Raw Materials: Bulk raw materials are stored in huge shipping containers held along the top of the Spinal Collar. These are transported directly to the station by freighter.
Fusion Reactor: Babylon 5's main power source is provided by eight linked Tokamak fusion reactors. The reactor housing is situated 2km south of the main station, to reduce the risk of radiation exposure.
Fuel Core: The helium fuel used in the Fusion Reactor core is held in a storage facility at the southernmost end of the station.
