Vishal Group was accused of being involved in the food relabelling scam in Nepal

If you are in the FMCG business or keep interest in so, you have already heard and aware of the food relabelling scam in Nepal which took place just a couple of months back. The scam involved relabelling already expired food products like chocolates, chips and biscuits of some of the global reputed brands like Snickers, Pringles, Oreo, etc.

When the people got to know about the scam, there was a huge chaos among the public especially because during this time many of the people are eating healthy to keep their immune system boosted. Consuming food products which have already expired can pose a serious health threat.

Through their specialized wing, VG Foundation, they have done various social activities. They have worked towards increasing the employment opportunities in the country and have also taken special initiatives for women and children.

It was during the lockdown when the caring side of the group came in light. During the Covid-19 lockdown the group distributed medical facilities and other essentials to several hospital across Nepal and even donated a large sum of money to the Government during the time of crisis without any hesitation.

Vishal Group also donated sanitary napkins worth Rs 1 crore with the aim of promoting the basic health and hygiene among women. The initiative was executed by Vishal group in conjunction with P&G, the world-leading FMCG company and World Vision International, an organization that helps the children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice in the society.

Vishal group with the strong reputation is standing strong now while the investigation is still in the process. The group has denied all the allegations from their side, while the public is hoping that Vishal group stays strong during the investigation and overcomes this situation as soon as possible so that people stops calling the scam as ‘Vishal group relabelling scam’.
