Text Read to Student

For students with dyslexia, the SDI, Text Read to Student, is used as a way to assist in bridging the gap between their reading disability and their access to the written word. In an online environment, a reading disability can be exploited because the majority of the information being exchanged is written.

Teaching students to utilize the accessibility features of their device or digital programs will support this SDI and garner independence for the student. It is recommended that the student be taught these skills immediately and be encouraged to use them independently in the classroom so that they will be able to access them in a distance learning setting.
