For the video component of our project, we will be creating a motion video using our Tessellation Project as the subject of our video and the BandLab audio as our musical "score." For this part of the project, there are many ways to accomplish this; however, it is suggested that you either use:
the video camera on your Chromebook or cell phone while playing your audio on the same device.
the video camera on your Chromebook or cell phone while playing your audio on a different device.
Hint: Start your BandLab file with 10-seconds of silence to allow you to press "play" and turn the camera around BEFORE the music starts and you start videoing your artwork.
On a laptop or tablet, WebCamera.io is a suitable application to accomplish this type of a video. You may click the link below or find a similar application already installed on your device.
Save your project to your Google Drive.
Submit your project to our class Google Slide which can be found in our Google Classroom.
Day 1 - Read the project pages and view videos.
Day 2 - Explore BandLab and create your first draft of a background song.
Day 3 - Refine your first draft. Let others listen to it and offer feedback -- socially-distanced, of course.
Day 4 - Record your video and submit your work. Remember: The first draft may not be the best. If each recording takes 45-seconds to record and another 45-seconds to watch what you recorded, you could easily record your project 10+ times in a class period to get the best version.
Now that you are completed the project, take a moment to reflect on the artistic processes and decisions that you made in its creation. In case you hadn't thought about it, you were a visual artist, a composer, and a videographer for this one single project.
