Love Burn Rentals reads the tank, power and length fields on every Outdoorsy RV near Miami, so you can see before you book whether a rental will last four nights on Virginia Key with no hookups. On October 1, 2026, 72 of the 207 Outdoorsy listings within 50 miles of Virginia Key published no fresh water tank size, and the 135 that did had a median fresh tank of 44 gallons. Four people drinking the event's one gallon a day for five days use 20 of those gallons, which leaves about 24 gallons for every dish, flush and shower of the weekend.
This page turns those listing fields into a prep plan: water, power, where the tanks get filled and emptied, which pass bracket the rig lands in, how delivery onto the key works, and what to get from the owner in writing. Figures come from the October 1, 2026 listing read behind loveburnrentals.com/rv-rentals, checked on October 14, 2026.
The Love Burn survival guide asks you to bring one gallon of drinking water per day. The event runs from Thursday entry to Monday exodus, which is five days on the key. Source: theloveburn.com/survivalguide, read October 14, 2026.
Drinking water for four people: 20 gallons. One gallon, times four people, times five days. That is drinking only.
Median published fresh tank: 44 gallons. 135 of the 207 listings publish a fresh tank size. Half carry 44 gallons or less. Source: October 1, 2026 read.
Listings with no fresh tank size: 72 of 207. About one in three. For these, you do not know the number that decides your weekend until the owner tells you. Source: same read.
Fresh tanks under 40 gallons: 38 of 135. On these, drinking water alone takes half the tank or more for a party of four. Source: same read.
The practical move is to keep drinking water out of the tank entirely. Bring 20 gallons in jugs for four people, and treat the fresh tank as washing and flushing water. A tank problem then never becomes a drinking problem. The site's own arithmetic is at loveburnrentals.com/blog/water-math-four-dry-nights-virginia-key.
Every gallon that goes down a sink or shower drain lands in the grey tank, and there is no dump on Virginia Key. Of the 129 listings that publish both a fresh and a grey tank size, 90 have a grey tank smaller than the fresh tank. On those RVs you can run out of room for dirty water while clean water is still left.
The median published grey tank is 40 gallons. Spread across four people and five days, that is 2 gallons of drain water per person per day for everything: dishes, hand washing and showers. Plan showers around that number before you arrive, not on day three.
The black tank is the one owners publish least. 82 of the 207 listings give no black tank size. Ask for it, because a toilet you cannot use by Sunday is a long walk to the portos.
There are no RV hookups and no power for RVs on the key. The event's ticket page says RVs must be self-sufficient. Source: theloveburn.com/ticketquestions, read October 14, 2026.
Listings with an onboard generator: 148 of 207. About seven in ten. Source: Outdoorsy listing fields in the October 1, 2026 read.
Listings with solar: 72 of 207. 52 of these also carry a generator. Source: same read.
Listings with either one: 168 of 207. Source: same read.
Listings with neither: 39 of 207. About one in five. These RVs arrive on the key with whatever their house batteries hold and whatever you bring. Source: same read.
A generator field is a yes or no. It says nothing about fuel type, how many hours the owner allows, or whether the owner charges for generator use. The read records none of those, so each one is a question for the owner.
The event's sound policy sets quiet hours from 3 AM to 10 AM, as loveburnrentals.com reported on October 14, 2026. That is seven hours a night when a running generator is a problem for your neighbors on Arthur Lamb Road. A battery power station covers lights, fans and phones through those hours. The tradeoffs are at loveburnrentals.com/blog/generator-or-power-station-four-nights.
Rickenbacker Causeway is the only road onto Virginia Key, and the key has no water and no dump. Whatever is in the tanks when you cross is what you live on until Monday. So the order on pickup day is fixed:
Fill the fresh tank completely. Ask the owner whether the RV leaves their driveway full. If it does, this step is done.
Empty the grey and black tanks completely. Ask the owner whether the RV is handed over empty, and where they dump it themselves.
Fuel the vehicle and any generator fuel you carry. There is no fuel for sale on the key.
Buy ice and carry cash. Ice is the only thing sold on site. Source: theloveburn.com/ticketquestions, read October 14, 2026.
Cross the causeway the same day. A full tank plus an overnight parked somewhere unfamiliar is a risk you can skip.
Love Burn Rentals does not name dump stations it has not confirmed, and neither does this page. The owner knows where that RV gets emptied, so ask them. Mid-weekend, the only option on the key is a pumpout ordered at theloveburn.com/pumpouts after site numbers come out, around December. The 2027 page lists $85 plus a $4.52 fee, $89.52 per pumpout, before card processing and tax (read October 15, 2026). Source: loveburnrentals.com/logistics/rv-pumpouts, read October 15, 2026.
The event prices the RV pass by vehicle length. In its own words on the 2027 ticket page: under 24 feet is $195, 25 to 39 feet is $295, and longer than 40 feet is $395, each plus tax and fees. Source: theloveburn.com/ticketquestions, read October 14, 2026.
Here is where the 207 listings fall against those words, by the length each host entered on Outdoorsy:
Under 24 ft ($195): 43 listings. Source: October 1, 2026 read.
Exactly 24 ft (not placed by the event's wording): 12 listings. "Under 24" stops below it and "25 to 39" starts above it.
Between 24 and 25 ft (not placed): 2 listings, listed at 24.5 ft and 24.8 ft.
25 to 39 ft ($295): 131 listings.
Exactly 40 ft (not placed): 8 listings. "25 to 39" stops at 39 and the top bracket is "longer than 40".
Longer than 40 ft ($395): 10 listings.
No length published: 1 listing.
That is 22 listings, about one in ten, at a length the event's brackets do not cover. If your RV is one of them, email tickets@theloveburn.com and get the bracket in writing before you apply. The step between brackets is $100 each way.
Towables carry one more unknown. The event counts a car and trailer combo or a truck and trailer combo as an RV. Its page does not say whether the pass length is the trailer alone or the trailer plus the vehicle towing it. A single Outdoorsy length field does not say whether it includes the hitch. Ask both questions before you apply. Match listings to brackets at loveburnrentals.com/rentals/rv-pass-brackets.
In the October 1, 2026 read, 136 of the 207 listings offered host delivery. Each host sets where they deliver and what it costs on the listing. A host who delivers in Miami has not agreed to deliver onto Virginia Key.
Love Burn Ops will not allow vendor drop-offs onto the key unless they are pre-approved, and the vendor needs a SPA Service RV wristband. The form is expected in December. Source: loveburnrentals.com/virginia-key-rv-rental, read October 14, 2026. Without that approval, you pick the RV up where the listing says it is kept, or at an address the host agrees to deliver to, then drive the causeway yourself with your pass.
If a host offers to deliver to the burn, ask whether they will file for the vendor approval and the wristband, and whether they will come back for the RV after exodus on Monday, February 15, 2027 by 5:00 PM.
Three prep answers live only with the owner: any blank tank size, the generator's fuel, hour limit and charges, and whether the RV is handed over with fresh water full and holding tanks empty. Send them in Outdoorsy messages, so the answers sit on the booking record. The full list of owner questions, with how many of the 207 listings leave each one blank, is at sites.google.com/view/love-burn-rentals/owner-questions.
Where to dump on the way. The site names no dump stations it has not confirmed. Ask the owner.
Which bracket 24 ft, 24.5 ft and 40 ft RVs fall in. The event's wording places none of them. Ask tickets@theloveburn.com.
How a trailer combo is measured. The event counts combos as RVs and does not say how it measures them.
Generator hours, fuel and charges. Not in the listing fields. Ask the owner.
