Welcome to ViMi4!

Welcome! ViMi4 will be hosted by Faro-based geoarchaeologists Vera Aldeias, Carlos Simões, Chase Murphree, Miguel Soares, Alvise Barbieri, Pedro Coxito, and Flora Schilt at ICArEHB, University of the Algarve, in Faro, Portugal.

After the smashing successes of the first three ViMi meetings hosted by Christine Pümpin, Dagmar Fritzsch and Astrid Röpke (April 23, 2021), Carolina Mallol and Natalia Égüez (November 17-18, 2021), and Sarah Lo Russo, Yannick Devos, Luc Vrydaghs and Barbora Wouters (March 31 and April 1, 2022), we will continue the initiative to gather micromorphologists from around the world for a few hours of virtual micromorphology.

Participants are invited to show their photomicrographs and will be able to get feedback from experts, discuss features, or simply learn and enjoy. Further highlights are the virtual microscope rooms in which we will navigate thin sections together.
