Rutland Volunteer Fire Department Secures $56,736 in Grant Funding

RUTLAND, Ohio — Two grants have been awarded to the Rutland Volunteer Fire Department totaling $56,736 in funding. The Department announces it has received confirmation of $7,000 awarded by the Ohio Division of Forestry for the purchase of a slide-in unit, which allow the Department to respond to areas that are hard to access by its trucks.

The Department also announces it has been awarded $49,736 through the Small County Fire Department Grant, administered by the Ohio State Fire Marshal. Funding through the SCFD Grant will be utilized to make repairs to the fire station, purchase updated equipment for trucks, replace stock of fire prevention awareness supplies, and update outdated computer and printer equipment for filing run reports.
