Rutland Mayor's Court Issues Bench Warrants and Summonses to Appear

RUTLAND, Ohio — The Rutland Mayor's Court has issued bench warrants and supplemental citations to defendants who failed to appear as summoned by the Rutland Police Department.

The Rutland Mayor's Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the following defendants for failure to appear:

• Michael Clark, of Bidwell, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension, in violation of Section 71.28(A) of the Rutland Municipal Code, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

• Madison Eskew, of Rutland, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of speeding, 50 miles per hour in a posted 35 miles per hour zone, in violation of Section 73.10 of the Rutland Municipal Code, a minor misdemeanor, after having been issued a supplemental citation.

• Cayden Keys, of Middleport, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension, in violation of Section 71.28(A) of the Rutland Municipal Code, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and failure to illuminate rear license plate, in violation of Section 74.05 of the Rutland Municipal Code, a minor misdemeanor.

• Wanda Morris, of Rutland, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of dumping of refuse, in violation of Section 93.25 of the Rutland Municipal Code, an unclassified misdemeanor.

The Rutland Mayor's Court has ordered a supplemental citation be issued to the following defendants for failure to appear:

• Mariah Griffith, of Pomeroy, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of speeding, 40 miles per hour in a posted 25 miles per hour zone, in violation of Section 73.10 of the Rutland Municipal Code, a minor misdemeanor.

• Matthew Metzger, of Junction City, Ohio, for failure to appear on the charge of speeding, 49 miles per hour in a posted 35 miles per hour zone, in violation of Section 73.10 of the Rutland Municipal Code, a minor misdemeanor.

Ohio law requires the Court to issue supplemental citations for defendants having failed to appear for offenses constituting a minor misdemeanor. Following the issuance of such supplemental citation, after 30 days, the Court may issue a bench warrant if the defendant again failed to appear or failed to remit payment of the fine associated with the offense.
