Research Interests

The universe consists of matter and electromagnetic radiation. We are very well equipped to manipulate matter well below the subwavelength level to create metamaterials. In today’s world of Nanophotonics, structuring light is equally as important as structuring matter. We structure amplitude, phase, polarization and coherence properties of light to create desired  structured light as per our requirements. 

We are working on “Structured light – structured matter interactions" wherein we adopt unified approach of the Singular Optics and Nano-Optics, to structure light at nanoscale and explore its interactions with nanostructures toward the development of all optical nanophotonics devices.

We are heading towards the fourth industrial revolution, the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information technology. The developments in photonics are awaiting its integration with AI. We are integrating the tools of AI to explore structured light matter interactions.

1. SERB project on “Machine learning assisted structured light demultiplexing using nanostructures.”

2. SERB project on “Singular Optics Meets Nano-Optics: Plasmonic Vector-vortex field.”

Fellowship Awards

• 2019: Council for Higher Education in Israel, Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) outstanding Post-Doctoral Researchers from India & China.

• 2017: Department of science and technology (DST)-Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India – National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF).

• 2010: Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (India) – Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR-JRF) award for pursuing PhD.
