# VieLog Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
VieLog is provided by Rayane Techs. This policy describes the current app. VieLog has no app accounts, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated cloud synchronization. The app does not automatically send your goal records to the developer.
## Data stored on your device
Goals, usage and lapse logs, urge sessions, check-ins, notes, plans, baselines, and trusted-contact details you enter are stored in the local app database.
Preferences, including your appearance choice, are also stored locally.
VieLog does not read your device address book. App data remains on your device until you remove it using the app or Android controls. Exported copies and Android backups are separate.
## AppLock and privacy controls
Optional AppLock uses an app PIN or Android device authentication.
VieLog stores a salted PIN verifier locally rather than storing the PIN itself. Android handles device credentials and biometric authentication; VieLog does not receive your biometric data.
Screenshot and recent-app preview controls depend on your settings and Android version.
AppLock restricts access through the app. It does not add encryption to the local database or exported ZIP files.
## Backups and exports
A portable ZIP backup is created only when you start the backup process. It is saved to a location you choose through Android.
The ZIP backup may contain sensitive information, including:
- Goal history
- Usage and lapse records
- Notes
- Trusted contacts
- Selected privacy preferences
The ZIP file is not encrypted by VieLog. PIN verifiers, authentication credentials, and widget configuration are not included.
VieLog also creates a local recovery snapshot before replacing data during a restore. A storage provider you choose may upload exported files according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Android OS backup and VieLog’s portable ZIP backup are different mechanisms.
Android OS backup and device transfer may include the historical database, depending on your Android settings and backup provider. VieLog excludes device-local privacy settings, including the PIN verifier, and widget configuration from its Android OS backup rules.
After a fresh Android OS restore, app protection must be configured again. Missing optional privacy settings use their default values, and missing widget configuration displays generic content.
These backup rules do not mean that older backups were deleted or that no previous backup occurred.
## Notifications
Optional reminders are scheduled locally. Notification permission is required where Android requires it.
Generic notification content is used by default. If you enable detailed notification content, goal information may appear in notifications according to your settings.
Android and your device notification settings control where notifications are displayed.
## Home-screen widgets
VieLog widgets can display generic information or information from a selected goal on your home screen. Widget configuration is stored locally.
When AppLock is enabled, widgets use generic content.
Anyone who can view your home screen may be able to see information displayed by a widget.
## External links and sharing
Safety & Resources is an in-app resource list.
Selecting a website opens an external browser. Selecting a phone action opens your device’s dialer. Trusted-support actions may open a messaging or sharing app with information you choose.
VieLog does not place calls or send messages itself.
Selecting the option to rate the app opens Google Play or the Google Play website using VieLog’s application identifier.
External apps, websites, storage providers, and communication providers may receive information you choose to send, together with network information, according to their own privacy policies.
VieLog does not request Internet permission and does not upload your recovery records itself.
