Vidyora (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a learning app for CBSE practice. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how we handle it.
1. Information we collect
• Profile details you enter: student names, class/grade, optional subject choices, and parent lock settings (including a locally hashed parent PIN).
• Learning activity: quiz answers, scores, explanations, and daily practice counts.
• Device notifications: if you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device.
• Optional cloud sync: when Firebase is configured, an anonymous account may be created so progress can sync to Firestore.
2. How we use information
• To personalise practice for each class and student name.
• To enforce daily limits and show history.
• To send morning and evening learning reminders you opt into.
• To sync profile and history across sessions when cloud sync is available.
3. AI practice questions
When online AI providers are configured, question prompts may be sent to those services to generate practice content. Do not enter personal passwords or sensitive personal data into quiz answers.
4. Data storage
• On device: profile and recent history are stored locally (Hive / app storage).
• Parent AI API keys (optional): stored encrypted in the device secure store only. They are never uploaded to Firebase or Vidyora servers.
• In the cloud (if enabled): profile, questions, and daily limits under your anonymous Firebase user ID.
• Parent PIN is stored as a one-way hash on device / synced profile — not as plain text.
5. Sharing
We do not sell student data. Data may be processed by Firebase (Google) and optional AI providers solely to run the app features you use.
6. Children’s privacy
Vidyora is designed for school-age learners with parent/guardian involvement. Parents can lock classes and optional subjects. Please supervise account use on shared family devices.
7. Your choices
• Turn reminders on or off in Profile → Settings.
• Clear or delete a student name for a class in Profile.
• Uninstalling the app removes local data on that device. Cloud data (if any) remains tied to the anonymous ID until deleted from Firebase by the developer upon request.
