Vidya Srinivasan is an Engineer, Speaker and Singer. She works as a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft and is passionate about incubating ideas and launching them. In her 6 year career at Microsoft, she has been a part of the core team responsible for launching SharePoint Home, Sites API integration across Office, Office 365 Groups, Office 365 video and building the strategy for enterprise social in Office 365 post Yammer acquisition. More recently, she was the first member of the team and product lead for SharePoint spaces that democratizes the creation of Mixed Reality experiences (announced at Las Vegas in May 2018).
Vidya loves to tinker with tech to hack-for-good and has won the Grand Prize, Hack 4 Good and Contributing to the Future awards at several hackathons. A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in tech, she has been a member of the Grace Hopper Conference Leadership since 2014 chairing technical tracks. She has over five years of public speaking experience on a broad range of topics including inclusive design, product management, and life as a woman in tech in settings as varied as panels, podcasts, and keynotes. Vidya holds a degree in Indian classical music and performs with bands in Seattle to raise funds for nonprofit organizations.
Three years into her career, she was profiled by Microsoft for pursuing a multidimensional career in tech. Vidya has since been featured by Forbes, Channel 9, Huffington Post, Moms Can: Code, The Women in Tech show, and Microsoft Research to name a few. Vidya is a guest lecturer at the School of Informatics in University of Washington. More recently, she was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni award by North Carolina State University.
