All Kerala C Coding Contest 2010, Prize Distribution Ceremony on 10 December 2010
In a solemn Ceremony held on 10 December 2010, prizes were distributed to the prize winners of the All Kerala C Coding Contest 2010 organised by the Department during September - December 2010. The event was organisd in the Main Seminar Hall of the College.

Farewell to Ms K S Sowmia, on 30 November 2010
Ms K S Sowmia, an alumna of the first MCA batch (2006 admissions) of the Department, had been with the Department as a faculty member since the beginning of the 2010 - 2011 academic year. The Department bid farewell to Ms Sowmia on 30 November 2010 consequent on the ending of her term of appointment.

IBM Software Engineer in the Department on 09 November 2010
Mr. Jeff Stratford, Senior Software Engineer, IBM, along with his wife, visited the Department on 09 November 2010. He interacted with the students and faculty of the Department. A formal interactive session with S1 MCA (2010) students was also held in the Seminar hall of the Department at 11.15 am where he made a presentation on the current software scenario.

An Orientation Programme was arranged on 18 October 2010 for the benefit of students admitted to the MCA course during the current academic year. Prof. C K Raju, Professor and Head of Department of Information Technology, MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram, was the Chief Guest of the occasion.

The Website of the Department of Computer Applications was officially launched by
Dr. S P Subramanian, Principal, VAST, at 11.30 am on 12 October 2010 in a simple function held in
the Advanced Computer Laboratory of the College.

Charity work at Mar Kundukulam Memorial Research and Rehabilitation Complex
The MCA 2008-11 batch of students and staff visited Mar Kundukulam Memorial Reasearch and Rehabilitation Complex, Peringandoor - 680 582 on 19 th August 2010. As part of the Onam celebrations, a half-day interaction was arranged with the inmates. The interaction included playing games with the children and participatiing in different cultural activities along with the inmates.

IBM DB2 Training Program for S4 MCA Students
As part of the IBM Academic Initiative from IBM, a training in DB2 was given for S4 MCA students during August 5 -7, 2010.The three-day training was conducted by Mr.Mohammed Adnan Khan from Vinsys IT Services (I) Pvt.Ltd, Pune under the co-ordination of Mr.Dijesh P (Sr.Lecturer-Dept of MCA).
