Vidpop — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Thank you for choosing Vidpop.
This document (the "Policy") explains how Vidpop ("Vidpop", "we", "our", or "us") treats information in connection with the Vidpop mobile application (the "App"). Vidpop is a creative studio driven by artificial intelligence: it turns written prompts into short videos, performs face swaps on your media, and assembles clips from a catalog of ready-made templates.
We take your privacy seriously. Personal information is processed solely for the purposes described below, and wherever the law requires it we act on the basis of your consent. By installing the App, creating an account, or using the App in any other way, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy; it is part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Use. Section 8 explains how this Policy may be revised over time.
1. THE DATA WE COLLECT
a) Data you provide to us yourself
- Photos. Pictures you take with your device camera, and pictures you import from your device library, may be collected by the App. Your permission is required before the camera can be used.
- Videos. The App may likewise collect video files you produce inside it and video files you bring in from your device. Camera capture also requires your permission.
- Facial features. To make the face-swap feature possible, facial-feature data may be extracted from your photos and processed for the single purpose of rendering the requested effect. We do not treat this data as biometric information, and at no point is it used to establish or verify who you are.
- Prompts and other creative inputs. When you generate or customize a video, the text you type and any reference images you attach travel to our processing servers for one reason only: producing the result you asked for.
b) Data gathered automatically
While you use the App we may log how you interact with it — which screens you visit and the time you spend on each — along with your IP address, the channel that led you to us, details of your device and its operating system, information about your mobile or wireless network, unique device identifiers (the IDFA, for instance), your language and region, browser type, time zone, and battery level.
Analytics services — including Facebook App Events and Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — are what we use to capture this device and usage data: hardware model, screen resolution, operating-system version, session duration, location signals, and similar details. It lets us understand what our users want, measure the performance of our campaigns, and keep the App useful and fast.
c) Cookies and similar tools
Cookies — small data files stored on your device — may be used to support authentication and specific features. Vidpop works with session cookies, which disappear when you close the App. Confirming the applicable consent prompt means you accept this use. Local storage, pixels, and web beacons may also be employed to power features and to study how the App is used.
2. WAYS WE USE YOUR DATA
Core functionality. Vidpop uses your photos, videos, prompts, and facial-feature data for exactly one purpose: producing the effect you requested. Facial recognition is never run, and no biometric identification or authentication of any kind takes place.
The path from input to output looks like this:
1. A picture, video, or prompt is sent from your device to our server.
2. Our server analyzes the input and sends back the outcome of that analysis.
3. Inside the App, those results are combined with your materials to render the finished effect.
4. For a short period the data sits in encrypted storage, after which it is removed.
After your result is generated, the pictures you uploaded are erased automatically — in every case within 24 hours of the end of your editing session. No face data is retained beyond what producing the effect requires.
Data other than your media. Information that is not a photo, video, or facial feature may serve us to:
- keep the App safe and strengthen its security;
- detect, investigate, and fix technical problems;
- operate, monitor, test, and refine the App and its performance;
- design and trial new features;
- examine usage trends and patterns;
- learn what you are looking for, so we can present services and advertising relevant to you;
- improve your experience with the help of insights derived from cookies.
Content you submit. During a session, material you provide may be cached temporarily or displayed for your convenience, and it may briefly persist on your device and/or in the cloud. By submitting content for swapping or generation, you consent to its collection and short-lived storage on these terms. Vidpop never applies facial recognition or biometric identification to submitted content.
New purposes. If we ever intend to use information in a manner this Policy does not cover, you will be informed in advance and, where the law demands it, asked for additional consent.
3. SHARING OF INFORMATION
- Your face data is not shared. It is never passed to third parties, and — as noted above — uploaded photos are wiped once analysis and synthesis are complete.
- Hosting and storage. Our infrastructure runs on trusted cloud providers (Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services among them), which maintain robust data-protection programs and safeguards designed to protect your information.
- Integrated platforms. The following services may be used by Vidpop:
- AppsFlyer — marketing analytics and mobile attribution;
- Apphud — purchase analytics and subscription management;
- Facebook App Events — usage and event analytics;
- Firebase (Google) — app development, crash reporting, analytics, and quality tooling.
Every one of these providers follows privacy practices and policies of its own, which are outside our control. We recommend reviewing them so you can see how your data may be handled.
- International transfers. Whenever information crosses a border, we rely on appropriate safeguards — standard contractual clauses and comparable mechanisms — consistent with the data-protection laws that apply.
- Legal obligations. Information may be disclosed where that is necessary to comply with laws, regulations, legal process, or legitimate governmental demands, or to assert our rights and to safeguard our users or the public.
4. STORAGE AND PROTECTION
Retention. Data is kept only for as long as the purposes stated in this Policy make necessary.
- Photos and videos remain on Vidpop servers solely for the duration of your editing session and are deleted within 24 hours after it ends. Beyond that, the media you use with the App lives locally on your device; deleting the files, or uninstalling the App, removes them.
- Aggregated, anonymous, or de-identified information may be kept for however long the purposes in this Policy require.
Security. Technical and organizational measures protect information against loss, damage, destruction, and unauthorized processing. The contractors we work with are vetted and bound by data-processing and confidentiality agreements, and our team is trained on our internal data-protection procedures.
5. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access and portability — learn which personal data we process and obtain a copy of it in a structured, machine-readable, commonly used format;
- Rectification — have personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete corrected or completed;
- Erasure — have data deleted when no lawful basis for, or need to, process it remains;
- Restriction — have processing limited in the situations the law provides for;
- Objection — object at any time, where the law permits, to processing such as direct marketing;
- Withdrawal of consent — revoke your consent at any moment, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9. Requests are free of charge unless the law provides otherwise.
6. HANDLING YOUR REQUESTS
Requests concerning your rights are answered promptly, and in any event within one month of receipt. Where a request is unusually complex, or where you have submitted several, up to two additional months may be needed; in that case we will notify you within the first month and explain the delay. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your area.
7. AGE REQUIREMENTS AND MINORS
Minimum age. The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. Persons under 13 may not use it or provide personal information. Users younger than 18 should obtain the permission of a parent or guardian before sharing personal information with Vidpop. Reasonable proof may be requested, and access may be switched off if such proof does not arrive within three (3) business days.
EU residents. In line with GDPR requirements, users located in the EU may use the App only from the age of 16, unless consent from a parent or guardian has been provided as described above.
Should we learn that personal data of a child under 13 (or under 16 in the EU) has been collected inadvertently, it will be deleted as promptly as reasonably possible. If you become aware of such a situation, please reach out using the contact details below.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Policy may be amended to keep pace with legal, regulatory, or operational developments. Amendments will be posted in the App and/or brought to your attention through other channels. Continuing to use the App for one week after a notice appears will be treated as acceptance of the changes — except where applicable law obliges us to obtain your explicit consent.
