The Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors is a global group of on-campus ambassadors who are eager to learn new technologies, help other students, lead in their community, and develop technical and career skills for the future.
Interested folks can apply for the program through the official site of MLSA. The applications for MLSA are open throughout the year. It is to be noted that applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Both selection and rejection emails are sent out to the applicants.
The application process consists of 7 steps. The application gets auto-saved. So it isn't necessary to complete it in one go. You can come back and edit it any time before clicking on the SUBMIT button. Let's have a look at each of these steps in detail.
(1) Application Notifications
In this step, the latest updates regarding the application process are mentioned. Applicants just need to go through them.
(2) Privacy and Terms
Here, the eligibility criteria are mentioned. Applicant needs to make sure that he/she fulfills all the criteria. The applicant then needs to read all the terms and give their consent in order to proceed further.
(3) Personal Information
Basic information like the Name, Email, DOB, etc... are to be included here.
(4) Academic Institution Information
This section asks the user to add information related to the Degree program, Degree level, and Expected graduation date of the course he/she is enrolled in.
(5) Application Questions
This is the most important part of the application process. Here, there are 3 questions that are needed to be answered. All three questions are mandatory.
It is compulsory for the applicant to submit the link of a video answer for any one of these questions. Pick the question which is most suitable for you to make a video on.
The video can be uploaded on YouTube or Google Drive. Make sure that the video is publically available and the link is not broken. Your application can get rejected if any of these 2 things are violated.
The remaining two questions are to be answered in essay form. The maximum word limit for them is 2000 words.
Be real. Do not make stories while answering the questions. The reviewers have gone through a lot of applications and hence would easily identify whether the answers are genuine or not.
Include as much information as you could. Do not keep on repeating the same thing again and again. The sole reason for essay-type questions is to help the reviewer understand you better. Try to take maximum benefit of the word limit.
Highlight your leadership and communication skills. You can include some of your anecdotes to showcase your skills.
Make sure that your essay is free from Grammatical Errors. To ensure this, you can get your essays reviewed by your parents, siblings, or friends.
