Speed Ramp: Video Speed Editor — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-08
This privacy policy applies to the mobile app "Speed Ramp: Video Speed Editor" for Android:
- Google Play: package com.moon.videospeed, developer "janey-moon"
The app is developed and operated by Heekyung Moon (Google Play developer name: janey-moon).

OVERVIEW
Speed Ramp: Video Speed Editor (shown in the app as "Speed Ramp") does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You use it to import a video, set speed changes along its timeline, and export a new video. Imported videos, projects, and exports are processed and kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
VIDEOS, EXPORTS, AND THE GALLERY
Importing: when you tap the import button, the app opens the system file picker, which needs no storage permission. The app reads only the video you pick and copies it into an originals folder in its documents storage, then reads the copy's length, frame rate, size, HDR flag, and whether it has audio, and calculates a checksum to verify later copies. If the copy cannot be checked, the partial copy is deleted and no project is added. The app does not read other videos or photos on your device.
Sample: "Try sample" creates a short clip of a moving bar on your device. It contains no outside footage and is saved as a project like an imported video.
Editing and preview: the editor plays your copy of the video on your device. Speed points and audio settings are saved in the project.
Exporting: when you export, the app renders a new video on your device from your copy and writes it to a temporary file in its cache. The rendered file is deleted when you leave the result screen. If the app is closed before then, the app normally deletes it the next time it starts. Unfinished render files are also deleted when the app starts.
Save to gallery: "Save to gallery" copies the rendered video into the Movies/Speed Ramp folder of your device's shared storage (Android 10 or later), where other apps that can view videos can see it. This needs no permission. Videos saved to the gallery are not removed by the app when you delete a project or uninstall the app; you can delete them in your gallery or file manager.
Sharing: "Share" passes the rendered video to the Android share sheet, and the app or person you choose receives it.
BACKUPS AND RESTORE
"Create backup" writes backup files to a folder in the app's cache and opens the Android share sheet so you can save or send them. A backup contains: a header file; the project list (each project's name, which is the file name of the imported video, its length, frame rate, size, HDR and audio flags, speed points, audio setting, revision, update time, and checksum); a copy of each project's video split into parts; the IDs of deleted projects (not their contents); and the raw text of any project file the app could not read. Projects you deleted are not included. Backup files are not encrypted. Backups you shared or saved are controlled by the app or person that received them, or by the place where you saved them. The app normally deletes its own copies in the cache the next time it starts.
"Restore backup" opens the system file picker; you select the backup files. After you confirm, the app copies them into a restore folder in its documents storage, and it then deletes the copies the picker placed in its cache. Restored videos are rebuilt from their parts into the app's originals folder. Restoring merges the backup with your projects: the newer version of each project is kept, and projects deleted in either place stay deleted. The app keeps the files in the restore folder, including the video parts, so that missing parts can be added in a later restore. When you delete a project, its parts are normally removed from the restore folder; other files in that folder are kept until the app's storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
For each project, the app keeps a project file with the fields listed above and the copy of its video. It also stores the IDs of deleted projects, and short-lived records used to finish an import or deletion if the app is closed in the middle. The app sets no limit on the number of projects, and restoring a backup does not apply a count limit either.
The app may also store basic operating information such as cached advertising settings and More Apps list.
The developer does not run a server that receives your videos or projects. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not write to Firestore or upload your videos, projects, exports, or backups. The More Apps list loads app icons from internet addresses in that list.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, a splash screen view, whether a launch ad was shown, menu actions (review, privacy summary, More Apps), a save-to-gallery event, ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency, and precision), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. No event parameter carries your videos, project names, speed settings, or other values you enter.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: an app-open ad when the app starts or when you return to the app on the home screen, an interstitial ad that may appear on the result screen after you save a video to the gallery (from the second save while the app is open), a banner ad on the home screen, and a native ad in the exit dialog. Google may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location. The app does not start a full-screen ad (app-open or interstitial) while the editor is open or while a video is being exported.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
The app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos and media, or storage access; you choose videos through the system file picker, and saving to the gallery needs no permission. The app also uses vibration, a permission Android grants without asking, for short haptic feedback, for example when a save or export completes.
At launch, before ads are requested, Google's consent message (UMP) is checked and shown where required (for example in the EEA and UK). If that step completes and Google reports that ads cannot be requested, the app does not request ads. Personalized ads are requested only when consent is not required or your choice allows personalized advertising; otherwise ads are non-personalized. If the consent step fails (the consent information cannot be updated, the consent message cannot be loaded, or your saved choice cannot be read), the app requests non-personalized ads only.
Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. If that message cannot be opened or your new choice cannot be read, the app stops requesting ads until it is closed and started again.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
On the home screen, Delete on a project card removes the project after a short undo period (about 6 seconds): the app then deletes the project file and the app's copy of its video, and normally removes its parts from the app's cached backups and restore folder; its ID is kept so that restoring an older backup does not bring it back. If the app is closed during the undo period, the project is not deleted. Videos saved to the gallery and files you shared are not affected.
The app has no button to delete the restore folder. Clearing the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app removes the projects, video copies, and the other data in the app's storage.
Local data, including your video copies and the restore folder, may be included in a Google or device backup depending on your backup settings (the app allows Android system backup). Uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
Because we do not receive your videos or projects, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy. Data processed by Google is retained according to its service settings and policies:

SECURITY
Your projects and video copies are kept in the app's private storage, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a screen lock. Videos saved to the gallery are in shared storage, where other apps with media access can read them. Backup files are not encrypted, so anyone who receives them can view the videos in them. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app handles to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Speed Ramp changes playback speed in small steps and does not create new frames, so slow motion holds frames longer. The preview and predicted output length are approximate, and the exported length can differ slightly. Some videos, such as certain HDR videos, may not export on every device. Keep your original video, because the app works from its own copy and does not change the original.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
