Videograms are reviewed by JPay employees to ensure they meet MN DOC criteria before they are delivered to the incarcerated person. Click here to view the videogram rules. If your videogram is rejected, you will not receive a refund.

You can create VideoGrams to attach to emails you will send to an incarcerated individual. A VideoGram is a recording using a webcam attached to your computer. To create the VideoGram the system will take control of your default web camera to make a recording of yourself for your friend or relative. The VideoGram is limited to 30 seconds in duration. You can also use the JPay app to send only the 30 second Videogram.

Hello, I'm new on the forum. I live in France and I'm 32 years old.

My inmate sent me 2 videogram but I don't know how to see them.

On the computer I don't find the section " videogram " and on the phone in the videogram section I can send it but I see nothing else. How receive them ?

Can you help me please? It has been one week since I try to understand grrrrrrr.

In certain states videograms is not authorized. I think that that also depends on the prison and on the prisoner. And then rules are strict, the first video of my PP was not sent to me because he was in tank top and not dressed in his statutory blue blouse! It's true that it's serious to see a shoulder lol.

I'd be curious if anyone knows how to get video grams on PCs and laptops. Jpay FAQ is about as worthless as 2 tits on a bull. You used to be able to do with when composing messages and they slowly did away with it once they rolled out these stupid E cards that really only benefit the inmates. I can get videograms on my mobile but I am having issues there because its not compatible with my phone (I end up being recorded upside down). If anyone knows of a backdoor solution, I'd love to hear it.

Hi from France too ! Well I received some Jpay videogram in the past from my man, it's easy to watch it, you just need to click on the message. Because Jpay usually send you message where inform you about a videogram. If you did not get any message is because maybe doesn't work. If your friend send you the number of videogram, you write to Jpay and explain the problem. Where does your friend comes ???

I'm curious how many of you send and receive videograms on Jpay with your PP. Initially I was only expecting to write and exchange a few photos, but my PP was super into the videogram thing from the first correspondence and then mentioned it in nearly every email there after. I accidentally ignored mentioning it as I kept forgetting to with everything else I wanted to write each time. He sent me one today. It was nice to put a voice to a face and words, but it was also very touching as you can really see the emotion vs just reading. You only get 30 seconds and my PP was cut off in mid sentence, I feel so bad. The ball is in my court now to do one for him and I know he'd really love it. 30 seconds is so short, does anyone have any tips? I use my webcam and phone cam fairly often, so I'm not worried about the logisitics of it. I'd be happy to hear anyone's experiences doing this. :yup:

I have a question about the video grams thing. For some reason it won't work on my phone . It's keeps saying "unable to receive messages at this time please try again later". Does anybody know why or do you have to have a certain phone to access your video grams on the app?

No..anyone can send the lil vid grams but you must be approved for a vid visit..and more or less the same conditions apply as a physical visit..you can t just get up and do tthe visit in night clothes or inappropriate wear...obviously, cos you're in your own home things like jewellery won't be as strictly controlled, but no one else can be in the room or they will stop the visit and you could get a ban..

we video gram each other a few times a week, he can save them on his player so he gets to watch them over and over in his cell, he loves them :) and they only cost us 3 stamps per video which is awesome. sometimes they can take a day to go through but we've only ever had 3 that were not approved

Yeah, I used to do some videogram until 2 years ago, I used to do with my fianc ( :o ) and it was very emotional for us to see finally our faces. After we started to have our video visits and as we live 4300 miles far away everytime is special moment (even if too short 30 minutes). Also for us was very magical / emotional the first time we talk at phone and listen our voices and for him also see part of my "world" (my room with my personal stuffs around). I know videogram is short, only 30 seconds so I usually write on paper my message 'cos also English is not my mother tongue. On Jpay it cost for 5 stamps ... I'm sure you will enjoy to see finally your faces and listen your voices. I never did it with my other penpals. Maybe one day ...
