I have a problem that I wouldlike some help with. I have a labview VI that creates an image usingthe "IMAQ image" block set, and I have a VI that allows image selectionwith the mouse. Most of that second VI's code comes from an example.The problem is, my picture selection VI requires that the picture bethe "picture" data type, but the pictures my other VI creates are the"image" data type. Ctrl-h says the first type of wire is "picture" andthe second type of wire is "Image Dst Out (IMAQImage)". I either needto convert the "image" to "picture", or rewrite my picture selection totake in an "image" variable instead of "picture." I'm not especiallygood at labview, and I'm running out of time, so conversion seems to bethe best option. I found another thread that talks about converting an"image" to an array, but I'm not sure how to turn that array back intoa "picture". Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. I saw that VI when I was digging around, but there are a couple issues. First, I'm using v8.2 and that VI is v8.6. More problematic, however, is that fact that I need to go from image to picture, not picture to image. Would it be possible to "reverse engineer" that VI to make it convert the other way?

The one problem I still have is, if I have a chart or some sort of plot that I drew, it doesn't convert it nicely. It simply adds the picture as is. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to easily convert handwritten graphs and other pictures to LaTeX, or am I stuck with manually making them in Tikz?

I run into this all the time in Publisher. When revising previous publications or doing rough layouts, I have a need to change existing picture frames from square to round and vice versa. And, yes, I also routinely create shapes, then convert to picture frame. But when working on layouts, like to try an image contained in a rectangle, but also would like to easily be able to see it in a circle without having to start from scratch. And I don't want to go to the complexity of converting the frame into curves, then dealing with that. Just a simple toggle between square and round.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but thanks for the reminder of that feature. It does, of course, assume that a person ALWAYS starts with a rectangular picture frame, which is often not the case. And I am unaware of a way to convert an oval/circle picture frame to square.

The are two switches on the converter. I think one switches between S-Video and Video and the other between PAL and NTSC. But alas, no combination seems to give a better picture (it does give a different picture).

I have used nautilus-image-converter in many different Gnome versions to resize images with a right click on the file using nautilus.
