Welcome! Congratulations on taking a significant step towards getting to know yourself at a deeper level. This journey is all about you. Life can be complicated and difficult to thrive in, especially for those who experience challenges within themselves and from outside sources. It can leave you feeling broken and stuck. As someone who has experienced trauma and the subsequent internal struggle that followed, I relate strongly to those feelings. However, there is a way to navigate these challenges in a way that promotes long-term peace. I am passionate about providing a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and warm space. My goal is for you to be comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings, and actions with genuine curiosity. In that space, we can learn how your experiences have led you to where you are currently and the patterns you have developed relating to yourself, others, and the world around you. I have heard many people say, "people don't change." The reality is that the only constant in life is that we are changing little by little every day, and you can make positive, lasting changes for yourself. That often means understanding how you came to your current perspective and, at times, disrupting your self-narrative. Let's make meaning of your experiences together.

Let me share a little about myself with you. I gained my love for social work and trauma therapy while I lived in Argentina. After returning to the United States, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas State University. After working in a family shelter and as a mentor for at-risk children and adolescents, I decided to get my master's degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I am passionate about family, music, service, and spirituality. I love to have adventures and laugh. I can often be found listening to stand up comedy, having impromptu dance parties with my family, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling.

Jackie started practicing yoga in 2007 as a way to maintain her strength and flexibility. She never expected it to slowly progress into a journey of self-love and discovery; looking for a way to deepen her practice, she completed her 200 hour YTT through LifePower Yoga. She creates a safe, non-judgemental space for students to move inward to find deeper meaning and inspiration.

I have been practicing yoga and incorporating its philosophy into my life since 2004. In the spring of 2011, I received my 200-hour teacher training through LifePower Yoga. Since then, I have taught a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyassa, Hot, Yin, Power and Sculpt. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach so many styles of yoga and to help students grow physically, mentally and spiritually as they embark on their own personal journeys. My favorite part of yoga is knowing that wherever I am, I can take a class, meet wonderful people and surround myself with a tribe of like-minded people. The yoga community is one of love, acceptance and understanding, and for this, I am eternally grateful!

"I taught myself algebra because as a child I liked to sing... I think we should probably be a little bit cautious or reflective before we kill any passion that appears in a child. Because I think passion, really it is just a love of hard work and it's pretty rare and it's hard to create."
