Victoria Ramadi is an educator by nature. For decades, she enjoyed a career teaching others. Now, in her retirement, Ramadi is still doing her part to spread the joy and power of learning. She accomplishes this goal through her participation in and support of various education-related nonprofits and charitable organizations. In particular, she is a proud supporter of Care, Victoria Foundation and ProLiteracy.

Victoria Ramadi pursued a career in education largely due to her own love of learning. Fascinated by language, she has achieved fluency in French, which is one of her favorite languages! Ramadi even received an honor from the French government in recognition of her studies. Throughout her career, the teacher realized how important and vital language truly is. Many students struggle with the process of learning a language. For some, the battle begins with their own language, making communication and learning a very difficult process.

Educational Charity Work: ProLiteracy
Although Ramadi’s career as an educator is now behind her, she is still passionate about teaching. That’s why she focuses her energy on education-centric nonprofits. In particular, she enjoys supporting charitable organizations that help individuals succeed through language and literacy. One of her favorite charities is ProLiteracy, which is a program that provides adults with the tools and resources necessary to improve their reading and writing skills.
Success often seems unattainable for adults struggling with literacy capabilities. The issue poses a gap between the individual and their professional opportunities. While furthering one’s education with the pursuit of a collegiate degree or certificate is often discussed, adults in need of foundational learning are often forgotten. However, the supporters of ProLiteracy understand that these adults are capable and intelligent -- it is the resources that they lack that are holding them back.
Although ProLiteracy was initially founded in Syracuse, the organization now has a global reach that benefits individuals in 20 developing nations. This worldwide initiative is inspiring to Victoria Ramadi, who has supported the message of ProLiteracy since its inception in 2002.
The messages presented by the charity are ones which she believes in strongly; Ramadi looks forward to developing on her involvement with ProLiteracy -- and many more educational charities both local and abroad!
