About me

I was born in Zaragoza, Spain. I received the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. After that, I joined Voice Input Voice Output Laboratory (ViVoLab) research group as a Ph.D student with a national grant to develop it. I received the Ph.D. degree in 2022 from the University of Zaragoza, Basque Country, A Coruña, Oviedo and Cantabria. During my Ph.D, I spent three months as a Visiting Researcher with the StarLab group at the SRI International technology centre. I have achieved several publications of my work in different top international scientific journals and conferences. My honors include the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award of the Iberspeech 2022 and the 2023 European Association for Biometrics (EAB) Max Snijder Award. My research interests expand through the areas of signal processing, machine learning, multimodal verification and identification (voice and face), and language identification. Throughout my scientific career, I have taken part in several international, national, and industry projects. Now I am currently working as a research scientist in the ViVoLab research group. I have completed two postdoctoral research stays to participate in the prestigious Frederick Jelinek Memorial Summer Workshop on Speech and Language Technology (JSALT) at Johns Hopkins University in 2022 and at Le Mans University in 2023, both as part of the European ESPERANTO project (H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020).
