My character design is based on Bridgerton and Regency Era hair styles. I want to replicate the tiny bangs, the overabundance of curls, and the fancy feel of the updos. My research comes from the Netflix show as well as from paintings of that era. I included outfits and accessories in my research in order to get the full vibe of the time period.
Daphne from Bridgerton: This is the style I want to portray. It is a beautiful updo that is still a popular look today.
This is a replica of the updo from Bridgerton. I love the little twist underneath to cover some of the hairline.
This is a painting from the Regency Era. It is beautiful and I love the curlies at the top of her forehead.
This is a stylized image from the Regency Era. It gives a glimpse of the back of her hair.
Another painting from the era. I love the arrow end in her hair!
Another stylization of Regency. The seethrough layer of her dress is just so pretty.
Another version of Daphne's updo. I just lover her hair color in the sun.
More of Daphne. This image is a good 3/4 view of her hair.
I love this dress! I also love this pineapple purse and the beautiful embroidery shawl.
This is from Emma. I think the tight curls are so fancy, but I also love the flowers in the darker haired girl.
I just love Daphne. She's adorable. The little bangs she has going on are just so sweet.
A few more dresses. I like how they're kind of opposite. They have simple and then fancy.

I figured this project would take maybe 5-6 hours tops. However, that was maybe the actual time to actually do just the ventilating. I found it to take maybe closer to 10 total hours. I hated that the wig I started with was so out of shape. It was fuzzy and kind of matted. I ended up trimming a lot of it off and still didn't fully manage to get all the frizz out of it. I think I would spend more time deep conditioning the wig prior to styling to see if some of it would reform a bit. However, I loved the way the curls held and the color of the wig is beautiful! the ventilating process was a breeze and in turn looked really nice. Despite hating the frizz, I found it gave a bit of life to the wig. It looked a little more real. I feel that this translates really nicely to the stage. I think it needs a bit more in the hairline to translate better to a screened piece, but from stage it is perfect.
