I'm developing a tiny launcher. Its main idea is to fix the lack of functionality in Viber for Windows.I want it to make start Viber minimized to tray only.Normally, when Viber is starting, it appears a Viber main window on desktop and an icon - in system tray. All the time I should close this obsolete window manually.So, I have written a few lines of code, but I found that it still couldn't close the window:

But whatever I tried (Close, Dispose) - it does not work.Method Kill does not fit, because it kills all. But the only thing I need is to close Viber main window and leave the process in the System Tray.

In such a case, we receive a minimized window on the TaskPane and an icon in the SystemTray. But in this case I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of the icon (how to close minimized window) on the TaskPane.

You may question why I'm sounding like I'm demanding an already-existing answer: Because this bug has existed for too long, and also because I saw another Reddit post (which comments are disabled for some reason) regarding this issue. As you can see through my transparent Viber window, that is the other post which has never been answered.

I found only a single thing which looks weird: `aur/viber` runs with a shocking white window border, which looks really out of place for my dark Gnome theme. I suspect it's because a Qt app, but it worked correctly running the same setup on Xorg, and I don't really understand how the window manager theme can be different for a Qt app. To show a picture of the issue: - my terminal looks as expected, viber looks completely out of place.

I have made a clean installation of Kubuntu 16.04 and played around with the font sizes and other settings (such as the fonts DPI, but I tried resetting it...) to make it more to my liking and everything works fine, except for Viber; It is huge! It takes up pretty much the whole screen and cannot be resized to a smaller window (as the interface itself appears enormous, the letters, everything). Any other program I've used is completely normal...

However, it's at least possible to prevent Viber main window popping out on startup, instead keeping Viber minimized to Windows Taskbar, not System tray.

This will make Viber start minimized to Windows Taskbar from where you can close Viber window and leave Viber icon only in System tray:

Viber is launched with the command "viber.exe StartMinimized". This "StartMinimized" argument seems to mean that they intended Viber to start minimized. But it only works when Viber is pinned to the taskbar.

I am trying to find out how to make viber desktop working. It is allowed in application control settings.

It is working when HTTPS inspection is disabled. But when is enabled it doesn't sync. I tried adding domain exceptions(*.viber.com, *.rakuten.com) in the https proxy inspection but it is still not working.

Do you have suggestion how to configure the inspection so Viber will works but also the inspection for the other sites remains?

Hello @Maxim_Malencoff , this error should be due to Viber taking up too many ports, causing seafile to have no ports available.

You can try to increase the number of ports available on windows, the default number of ports available on windows is 5000. You can try to modify this according to this Microsoft document:

The sound is also reproducable by pressing the vol up/down button when the viber window is active. However, if another window is being activated it does not do this anymore. Only after i received or sent a message, it would do the sound again upon pressing the buttons.

When I make a viber video call if I move any window around the screen the monitor is flicking. Strangely, it is not the Viber window or the video flicking but the whole screen. The colours are trembling and the windows seem to be broken/have a delay while moving them around the screen.

I am running a Windows 10 VM, and have all applications installed that I use daily, and the problem is only with Viber. Its GUI is transparent and I cannot use it unless i minimize all other windows like Firefox for example. And my background hast to be black. See picture in attachment.

I have tried out again the Wayland on my testing Manjaro + KDE Plasma + Nvidia 1050Ti system. It is a pleasant surprise for me that a lot of things work properly, most softwares run normally and I only had to adjust a few ones (e.g. GPXSee, Birdtray) manually. The only software that gives me a headache is the Viber. It starts with fully a transparent window, only the window borders are visible. It looks as it works, because the mouse pointer changes its shape according to the (invisible) content of the window. On my system the QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb viber does not help.

Is there any other trick that can help to run the Viber?

I wonder if the Viber runs on KDE Plasma + Wayland + AMD or not?

When I connect my Huawei P9 to a PC and browse folders I can see viber/media folders on both Internal Storage and SD Card. In this folder I can see Viber Images and some dot folders, but no Viber Videos or User Images.

However, there is a way to see images and videos (at least on Huawei P8): Open Files app (Huawei's default file explorer) and go to /viber/media and rename it's child folders (Viber Images and Viber Videos) and you'll be able to see them in Windows 10 Explorer. ff782bc1db
