The 1st Vietnam Gender and Socioeconomics Symposium is a multidisciplinary conference to be held in Hà Nội, Vietnam, on December 2-3, 2025. This first symposium focuses on "Gender Inequality and Women's Empowerment." It is co-organized by the Institute of Vietnam and World Economy (the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) and Curtin University.
The symposium will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and facilitate a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with pursuing gender equality and women’s empowerment. We will cover a broad range of topics, including (but not limited to):
Gender equality and women’s empowerment
Unpaid care work
Gig economy, informal sector
Digital economy
Gender and technology
Social insurance and security, and support system (maternity leave)
Gender, environment and sustainable development
