1. Introduction

VesnaGuard is an emergency SOS and personal safety application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using VesnaGuard, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

We may collect or process:

• Account / profile: name you enter in the app, device identifier used to sync your data with our servers.

• Emergency contacts: names and phone numbers you add for SOS alerts.

• Location: GPS or approximate location when you trigger SOS, use check-in, or when safety features need location for alerts (as configured in the app).

• SOS and check-in activity: timestamps and status of alerts you send or schedule.

• Device information: device model, OS version, and similar technical data to operate and support the service.

• Purchase status: if you buy premium features through Google Play, Google processes payment; we receive only what Google provides for subscription status (we do not receive your full card details).

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use information

We use data to:

• Send emergency SOS and check-in messages to contacts you choose

• Attach location to alerts when you enable location

• Store history and settings on our backend so the app works across sessions

• Improve reliability, security, and support

• Manage premium features where applicable

4. Android AccessibilityService (important)

VesnaGuard is built around emergency SOS. On Android, optional AccessibilityService permission supports core safety features when you turn it on:

• Emergency SOS trigger: detecting a user-configured on-device pattern (for example, rapid power-button / screen off–on) so an SOS can start when normal phone use may be difficult.

• Related safety features you enable in the app (such as check-in or emergency monitoring), only as described in the app.

What we do not use AccessibilityService for:

• Reading or collecting content from other apps for advertising

• Obtaining passwords, messages, or banking details from other apps

• Bypassing Android privacy controls or notifications

• Remote call audio recording

• Changing system settings without your knowledge or blocking uninstall of apps

Your control: You manually enable or disable VesnaGuard’s accessibility service in Settings → Accessibility. The app shows a disclosure before directing you to those settings. If you disable the service, features that depend on it (such as power-based SOS) will not work.

5. Permissions

The app may request permissions including:

• Location — for SOS and check-in location in alerts

• Contacts / phone — to pick or message emergency contacts (as implemented in the app)

• SMS — to send emergency messages where the app uses SMS

• Notifications — for safety and background operation notices

• Accessibility (optional) — only for the safety uses in Section 4

You can revoke many permissions in Android Settings.

6. Sharing of information

We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• Emergency contacts you select — via SMS or our messaging/backend services when you trigger an alert

• Service providers — e.g. SMS delivery (such as Termii or similar providers), cloud hosting for our API and database

• Google Play — for in-app purchases and app distribution

We do not share your data with third parties for their independent advertising.

7. Data storage and security

Data may be stored on secure servers operated by us or our hosting providers. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Retention

We keep data as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law. You may request deletion of account-related data by contacting us (see Section 12).

9. Children

VesnaGuard is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. International users

If you use the app outside your home country, data may be processed where our servers or providers are located.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
