Solly Shearer

Solly is a native of Heidelberg, Germany where she began her study of art at an early age.  She has lived in Lynchburg since 1977.  In 1980 she decided to become serious about her art and began taking drawing classes from Howard Coleman and shortly after she began taking watercolor classes from Dick Frisbee.  Solly then began teaching art classes herself in 2000 at the Lynchburg Art Club and the Academy of Fine Arts.

Solly was married to the late Dr. Elliott Shearer, who was a local dentist and Mayor of Lynchburg in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.  They traveled extensively all over the world to places like China, Thailand, Nepal, India and all over Europe (which inspired her artwork).

Solly has two sons, Wolfgang and Michael, both of whom travel extensively for work. 

Solly moved to Westminster from her home on Trents Ferry Road the first week of December and is adjusting well.
