Sandra McDaniel

When asked if she had considered moving anywhere else, Sandra McDaniel’s enthusiastic reply was, “No, of course not, Lynchburg is my home.” Sandra, the middle daughter of Roy and Mable Coffey, was born at Virginia Baptist Hospital and has resided her entire life within a five-mile radius of her newest home here at Westminster Canterbury.

Sandra was the Branch Manager of Central Fidelity Bank, Peakland Office, and retired in 1998. After retirement she had a second career in real estate selling homes. She loves to go antiquing and has filled her homes with bounty from her hunts. She had an antique shop, The Rabbit Patch, at Lou’s Antique Mall in Amherst, Virginia. Many of her charming collections are showcased in her Creekside apartment. Sandra grew up in Centenary Methodist Church and moved her membership 35 years ago to Peakland United Methodist Church.

Sandra and her husband Dudley “Hill” McDaniel, who passed away in 2022, traveled with family and friends, enjoyed dancing, theater and music. Their daughter Mary Margaret and her husband Trent Prange live in Alexandria, Virginia along with Sandra’s grand-dog “Luna,” a fun-loving, Rhodesian Ridgeback. In addition to her daughter and family visiting her in Lynchburg, Sandra loves to visit their home in Alexandria, as well as their beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. When she is ready to travel, she jumps on the train to Alexandria. She also has two sisters, Brenda C. Sager and Deborah C. Farmer.

And how does she like WC so far? “I plan to participate in everything WC has to offer. I love it! Love it! Love it! My life is totally refreshed! The employees and residents are so friendly and encouraging every single day since I moved here on October 28, 2025, on my birthday.”
