Understanding Dementia
September is Dementia Awareness Month. Join Dr. Charles Driscoll, MD, for a lecture entitled, Understanding Dementia. Dementia is a problem we all hope to avoid; yet currently more than 55 million people have dementia worldwide (2% of those under the age of 70 and 20% for those over age 85). Dementia is not just Alzheimers, but a term that encompasses a variety of conditions that require extra attention and support. There should be no shame in seeking help for this common medical condition. Get familiar with the distinguishing features of various types of dementia, identify risk factors and prevention strategies, and understand how it is best treated.
