Very informal seminars
Dipartimento di Matematica dell'Università di Pavia & CNR-IMATI, Pavia
The "very informal seminars", as the name says, are an informal joint initiative of some researchers in analysis and numerical analysis from the mathematics department of the University of Pavia and of the CNR-IMATI institute. After realizing that we were often talking about our research over lunch, we thought it might be interesting (and more convenient) to spend some time around a blackboard/whiteboard/beamer talking about our work, pointing out what are our long-term goals, what are the technical issues, where are we currently stuck etc.
An informal seminar usually takes about 1h/1h30, and it is meant as an informal and highly interactive presentation of one's work, during which every attendee is encouraged to interrupt and ask for clarifications as often as needed. They are currently held roughly once a month; the precise date is usually chosen by a Doodle pool. Get in touch with the organizers if you want to be included in the mailing list that receives the Doodle link.
