The Veritas dress code should be adhered to during club meetings, camp, and ANY functions where you are representing Veritas. This includes competitors who are at tournaments but have changed out of competition attire.
Members are to maintain neat and proper dress in order to refrain from attracting undue attention to themselves. The dress code includes but is not limited to the following guidelines:
No tank tops. No shirts or dresses with a shoulder strap of less than two inches or which may be considered immodest.
No exposed midriffs, backs, undergarments or inappropriately revealing clothing.
No clothing with messages that are not in line with Christian principles.
No excessively baggy, tight, or low-cut clothing.
No short shorts or skirts. Skirt hemlines are to be at least to the knee. Shorts must be below fingertips of extended arms.
Hair should be neat, clean, combed and off the face. Hair should not attract undue attention. No extreme hairstyles such as Mohawks or spiked. No unnatural hair colors.
This dress code is not all-inclusive. We are more concerned with the underlying principles of modesty and respect than with itemizing rules. Any specific situation not addressed here will be resolved by the board of directors in accordance with the general intent and purpose of the code.
Members who change out of tournament dress during a tournament (when they are no longer competing) must follow the Veritas club dress code and may be subject to violations as outlined below.
Members are required to wear full competition dress when attending tournament awards ceremonies. Students are not allowed to sit in the club section at awards without being in tournament attire nor are they allowed to receive medals and trophies on stage.
VIOLATIONS
If the competitor’s attire at any time (whether at club, a Veritas event, or at a tournament) is deemed in violation of the dress code, the competitor will be asked to come into compliance with the dress code.
This first violation will serve as a warning, and the student will be asked to change or to wear clothes provided.
If there is a second violation, the student will again be asked to wear clothes provided and must pay $50 before being allowed to return back to club.
If there is a third violation, the student will be asked to resign from Veritas or pay $200 before returning to club.
A fourth violation will lead to being dismissed from the club.
