Overview
Verdant Dossier is a personal plant record application. It lets you create plant files with photos, planted dates, soil information, light needs, health ratings, watering intervals, watering history, and journal notes.
Information We Collect
The app stores information you enter into plant records, including plant names, dates, notes, soil details, light requirements, health ratings, watering logs, journal entries, and selected photo file paths. This information is stored locally on your device using Hive local storage. The app also uses Google Play Billing for optional contribution purchases and loads the privacy policy in a WebView.
Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
The app does not include an account system, authentication, cloud sync, analytics SDK, ads SDK, crash reporting SDK, location access, microphone access, contacts access, or social features. It does not intentionally collect personal identity information unless you type it into your own plant notes.
How We Use Information
Locally stored information is used to display your plant files, watering history, journal notes, health readouts, and statistics inside the app. Photo access is used only when you choose images from your device gallery for plant records. Internet access is used for the policy WebView and Google Play Billing.
Data Sharing
Verdant Dossier does not sell your plant records or share them with a developer-operated server. Purchase processing is handled by Google Play Billing. The privacy policy page is loaded from Google Sites in a WebView.
Third-Party Services
The app uses Google Play Billing for optional in-app contribution purchases and WebView/Google Sites to display the privacy policy. These services may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Data Storage and Security
Your plant records are stored locally on your device. The app does not implement developer-operated cloud storage. Please use your device security settings and backups according to your own preference. The source code inspected does not implement additional custom encryption for plant records.
Data Retention and Deletion
Plant records remain on your device until you edit or delete them in the app, use the Delete All Data option, uninstall the app, or clear the app data through your device settings. Because the app does not provide accounts or cloud sync, there is no developer account deletion process.
Children’s Privacy
The app is not designed to knowingly collect information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has entered personal information into local notes, they can delete that content in the app or remove the app data from the device.
User Choices
You can choose what plant information and photos to add. You can edit plant files, delete plant records, delete all local data from the app, or uninstall the app. Optional contribution purchases do not unlock features or content.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes. Updated versions should use a new effective date.
