The viewer is useful but I get many clients who would like to take a measurement whilst viewing.

Perhaps this could be added to the next version?

Anyone else out there that feels it would be useful?

Hi,after update the new version of sketchup viewer for ios 16 i found out there is no measure tool anymore. and can you add more interact on click that can open or close the door( ex for door and window) so the vewers can simulate the opening too?

No layer control in the viewer means that my model is dead in Dropbox purgatory! No SnagIt .jpgs etc. 2nd floor plan only 2d is shown. Maybe SketchUp Maker will allow me to view the layers? Any advice greatly appreciated!

My sketchup for ipad is the version 6.0 and is different from the one on my phone. I can not find any tools to move the section plane in this version. where can I find the tool to move it? Because I can move the section plane on the version 5.

It seems strange because the app gives you a lot of control over section planes apart from the ability to move them? You can have different planes in different scenes though which I guess makes sense for a viewer.

Hi there!

I have never used the SketchUp program before and need to use the viewer for an assignment to view a model we have been given. I am trying to view the model with a vertical section cut. The sketchup file has both sections available but I cant figure out how to change the view of the section cut from the horizontal to vertical. I did it the other day pressing random buttons when playing around and, of course, cant find it again.

The issue with Tags, which become Layers in Trimble Connect - is that Trimble Connect is converting that SketchUp model into a TrimbBIM file in order to view it in the TC Viewer. This is how you can also take Revit and IFC files and view them in the TC viewer. But if I downloaded that SKP file and opened it wih SketchUp, the Tag and folders will still be there.

I have been provided a Sketchup file model to work with for a house, but as I dont have a Sketchup licence im not able to convert or export the file into more helpful file types

Is there a way I can import a Sketchup file to at least generate a floor plan? in Archicad

when importing the file, going to plan view doesnt give me anywhere close to anything resembling a plan

just a large cumbersome single object

from what i can gather it seems like an overly cumbersome process so far, might be quicker to measure the model in the free sketchup viewer and remodel the entire thing from scratch in Archicad

Cancel your subscription because you "cannot open a file"? Curious though why one would want to look at Sketchup drawings on a phone? Why don't you try on another device/computer...using an app to open the zip file. Not sure how? Google zip files, zip apps, or "how do I open a zip file"? Then after you unzip the file, try using the viewer. This is not complicated, just a few minutes of time.

I just installed the SketchUp viewer on my Android phone and opened a SketchUp model file with no problem. The one I opened was quite large (much larger than the SketchUp files included with the Digital plans) and a message popped up suggesting that I might want to close other apps but I ignored that and it works fine.
