Design & Development of Automatic Seat Retraction System (ASRS) to Mitigate Driver's Injury during Vehicle's Frontal Crash

About PhD. Thesis:-

During Frontal Crash, majority of injuries occur due to reduction in volume of occupant compartment. This includes Leg (lower tibia) Injury due to impact against control pedals & Chest (Thorax) Compression due to impact against steering wheel. Different OEMs follow different approaches to mitigate these injuries. Further the STAR Ratings under NCAP programmes is critically affected even if the multiple airbags are provided in the vehicle.

This research work aims at designing & developing a system integrated with driver's seat and airbag ECU for reducing driver's injury by providing additional survival space in passenger cars during frontal crash.

Expertise:-

  • Automotive Crash Testing & Validation as per National & International Regulations, Vibration Testing, Crash Dummy Calibration.
