Raised a fairly happy child, Dmitry was the proud older brother of Boris. To him, family meant everything - especially his younger brother. He spent a lot of time raising him while his parents worked to support the both of them. He especially loved bonding with his sibling over cooking and gardening. However, Russia during his early childhood was in the midst of political unrest. Paired with the fact that his grandmother’s health was not the best at the time and not wanting him to be caught up in the bloodshed that would inevitably break out, his family sent him to live with his grandmother for several years. During this time, Dmitry was touted as a fine, upstanding young man. He went to school, had a paper route, and built upon his love for cooking and baking with his caring grandmother. He was a very responsible kid and preferred to abide by all rules given to him.
Around age eighteen, he was sent back home to his mother and father and entered an arranged marriage with a friendly family’s daughter. The two were wed and for a while, things were stable. They had their first child, their son Nikolas, and all was well. As time went on however, his wife grew to be more and more demanding and cold towards him. She squandered the household income on lavish clothing and unnecessary accessories and when Dmitry tried to protest, she demanded he cave into her desires because she was pregnant again. After their daughter was born, his wife became more and more physically aggressive towards him, pushing him around and threatening him on a consistent basis. Not wanting to upset her for fear it would make things worse, he complied with her demands. He sought to reach out to his family but was interrupted at every opportunity by his wife insisting they were fine. Not wanting to seem like a liar and trying to remain the strong man he was known to be, he allowed Angelica to keep pushing him around. He was forced to bear her another child, their son Sven, but was drafted to fight in a war he did not agree with while she was pregnant. She was unreasonably angry about his drafting and accused him of abandoning his family. Dmitry tried to explain that he had no choice in the matter. However, it all came to a head when she took a knife and drove it into his back several times, carving a large x across his posterior stretching from shoulders to hips. He managed to make what he thought was a full recovery, though she never visited him while he was in hospital for the wounds and that was their final interaction before he left to serve his country.
During the war, Dmitry fought valiantly. Though he did not agree with the cause he was forced to align himself with, he did well to protect his brothers in arms. He garnered the nickname Tank from his colleagues on account of the fact that he had, on multiple occasions, taken bullets to protect his fellow soldiers and lived. He was an excellent shot, a loyal friend, and throughout his military career he refused to leave a single person that was with him behind, dead or alive. As time went on, he found himself plagued by pains in his lower legs and lower back. A routine examination found that Dmitry had nerve damage in his upper lumbar region that was causing him to develop stenosis and his Achilles’ tendons were degrading. To try and offer him some relief, he was given a specialized back brace and boots to help him support himself. While it helped, it ultimately hindered him from serving any further and he was honorably discharged from the military.
After he was let go from the service, Dim returned to an empty household and a letter from his wife saying that she had left him to be with another man and taken their children with her. Utterly devastated by the fact, Dmitry fell into a deep depression and begrudgingly sought out the comfort of his family. Much to his delight, they accepted what had happened to him and actively helped support him in recovering from the abuse of his wife. While he appreciated their company and their assurance, he still felt dissatisfied with his life and unsure of what to do with himself. He spent some time reconnecting with his parents and brother and worked in freelance trying to make some extra money. However, anything he ended up doing left him dissatisfied and unhappy.
It was around this time that he met a young boy who had decided to run away from home, having escaped an abusive father. Dmitry, pitying the young boy’s circumstances and seeing himself in the child, adopted him and took him in, raising the child as his own son and caring for him as best as he could. His son, Konstantin, was a bright and talented boy with a passion for education - especially where law was concerned. Wanting his child to have the best education and figuring there was nothing left for him in Russia, Dmitry decided to try and start anew by moving to America with his little Konstantin. His family supported his decision and waved him off on his journey overseas.
For a short time, they floated from place to place before Dmitry settled down in New York while looking for work. He spent most of those early days in the new country doing freelance work and various odd jobs until he was one day approached by a man seeking someone with a particular set of skills for a particularly shady but lucrative business that he needed assistance in getting off the ground. Intrigued, Dmitry cautiously accepted the offer and began helping set up the red room. His new business partner took a liking to him and Konstantin and decided to help raise the young boy, with some distance. After graduating high school, Dmitry supported his son’s endeavors to pursue a college education. Though it hurt to see his little Konsti moving so far away, he wished his son nothing but the best and assured him that the nest he was leaving would always be here for him to come back to. Shortly after Konstantin left for college, the red room was set up and Dmitry began putting his military training and heightened senses to good use as a kidnapper. Eventually, his brother would also cross the pond and join him. He’s made it a priority to only target those he deemed worthy of, or despicable enough, to deserve a seat in the red room.
Now, with a cozy place to live, a son that is doing well, friends to call his own, and a job that pays well for cleaning up the scum of the earth, Dmitry finally feels content with his life and at peace with himself, and he wouldn’t give that feeling of security up for anything.
Cold-hearted and frigid on the job, Dmitry is a ruthless pursuer. When he sets his eyes on a target, he will not give up the chase until he has them in his clutches. He turns to very unconventional and downright cruel methods that he himself innovates when the situation calls for it, putting his military-grade understanding of the human mind and almost predatory approach to good use tracking down, tricking, and capturing anyone who has garnered his attention. He demonstrates a terrifying level of experience in his craft, a remarkable level of skill in his field, and a surprising amount of agility and speed despite his large, bulky build. Despite how callous he can be on the job, Dmitry knows exactly when to drop the act and makes sure that his work persona and personal life stay completely separated.
Generally the calmest and most levelheaded of the red room team, Dmitry is the voice of reason and the responsible diplomatic figure. He mediates conflict, radiates calm, and tries to approach every situation and issue as rationally and logically as possible. When he’s not playing peacemaker, Dmitry generally has a very friendly, almost optimistic disposition. He tries to make himself approachable as he knows his towering height can be quite intimidating to many. He’s naturally a very reserved but caring person, willing to offer his assistance if he sees someone in need of it. He tries to be sincere when he can be but ultimately values loyalty more, and would rather spare someone’s feelings than be blunt about something. His gentle nature has often gotten him into trouble however, as his constant need to be polite and respectful to others has often meant he’s made himself a doormat for other people. But Dmitry is not stupid, and that doesn’t mean his unending kindness should be taken as naivety. The years have bestowed a great amount of wisdom upon Dmitry and he knows when his generosity and kindness are being taken advantage of. He simply prefers to let it slide and believes in being the bigger person in cases such as these.
When it is necessary, Dmitry displays how protective he can be. He will stand up for his companions and defend them when they call upon him to do so, physically or metaphorically. He is fiercely loyal to those who have earned his trust and will not back down until he is certain they are safe. This compulsive behavior can sometimes manifest itself as overprotectiveness or smothering, something Dim doesn’t mean to do but that is ultimately a result of his traumatic experiences and his hidden anxiety of losing others. He is proud to be known as the strong friend that everyone can depend on but often neglects his own feelings and needs in order to be there for others, emotionally and physically. His desire to be the big strong support everyone knows and recognizes him as causes him to overexert himself and leaves him feeling drained at times, yet he refuses to ask for help for fear of seeming less dependable. As wonderful of a person as Dim is and always tries to be, he struggles with his emotions and anxieties, not understanding that even someone as strong as him can crumble at times and that doing so is okay as long as he asks for help with picking up the pieces— which he doesn’t.
STRENGTHS: Dmitry is the strongest of all the characters. With his powerful build and intensive training regiments he does so often, the man has impeccable strength that he uses wherever and whenever necessary. Being the most logical of the red room team, Dmitry offers a voice of reason and word of caution wherever it is necessary and works to protect the team online as much as he does in real life.
WEAKNESSES: Dmitry is not as tech-savvy as his friends. He sticks to kidnapping because the idea of using an actual computer intimidates him. He still uses a flip phone for crying out loud! Dmitry is also oblivious to a lot of signals people tend to send his way. This can be taken romantically or casually. He tends to miss a lot of nuances, subtle body language cues, etc., partially due to the fact that he is of a different culture and English isn’t his first language.
HOBBIES: Cooking, baking, taking care of plants, doing domestic housework, watching sports television, cleaning, ice skating, working on a treadmill, weightlifting, going for walks through the woods, play-fighting, practice singing with Michael, calling his adoptive son to catch up, visiting home for the holidays
LIKES: Baking, sweets, dogs, cat, his friend, the color blue, soups and salads, Olive Garden bread sticks, winter time
DISLIKES: Rabbits, unnecessary aggression, heights, falling dreams

Dmitry’s identity is unknown. He doesn’t have social media accounts, he has no prior criminal records, and his marked residence is not somewhere he ever actually stays, he just owns the property and it is not marked as being in New York. While he does have legal identifications (and actually does do his taxes), he has never been suspected or implicated in a crime and police have no way of tying him into the disappearances of people.
Nobody knows about Dmitry’s kidnapping job unless he tells them. He’s very secretive about who gets to know it and he really doesn’t have all that many people he’s close to, so it’s very unlikely that he will tell someone unless he really trusts them.
Dmitry is a passive person, but if he finds there’s a problem between one of his friends and someone else, he will try to mediate it. If he can’t mediate it, he will take their side and defend those whom he is closest to.
People who meet Dmitry’s son Konstantin won’t immediately know Dim is his father of Konstantin is Dim’s son. This is because they look nothing alike and also don’t share the same last name.
Dmitry is very well-hung. He's 13 inches long and has quite a bit of girth to him.
Dmitry is a very gentle and affectionate lover. He enjoys being passionate and tender in bed, and he loves giving aftercare.
