Velo – Application Privacy Policy

At Velo, privacy is not just a feature—it is the foundation of the app.
Velo is designed to encrypt and protect your photos, videos, documents, and other personal files using strong AES-256-GCM encryption. Your data remains under your control at all times.
1. No Personal Data Collection
Velo does not collect, store, or sell your personal information.
We do not create user accounts.
We do not build user profiles.
We do not use third-party advertising networks.
We do not track your activity across apps or websites.
Your personal files and encrypted data never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share or back them up.
2. Local Encryption
All encryption and decryption operations are performed locally on your device.
Your files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before they are stored inside your encrypted vault.
Your encryption keys and Recovery Phrase remain under your control and are never transmitted to our servers.
We cannot access, decrypt, recover, or view your encrypted files.
3. Photo Library and Files Access
Velo requests permission to access your Photo Library and the Files app so you can:
• Import photos and videos for encryption.
• Import documents and other supported files.
• Save decrypted files back to your device.
• Export encrypted backups.
• Share files securely.
These permissions are used only while performing the actions you initiate.
4. Face ID and Device Authentication
Velo supports Face ID and device authentication to help protect access to your encrypted vault.
Biometric authentication is processed entirely by iOS.
Velo never receives, stores, or has access to your biometric information.
5. iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, your encrypted vault is synchronized through Apple's iCloud services.
Only encrypted data is synchronized.
Velo does not operate or store your data on its own servers.
Your encrypted files remain protected during synchronization.
6. Secure Sharing
Velo allows you to securely share encrypted files using features such as Secure Share and Share Original.
Any encrypted content shared through these features remains encrypted until decrypted by an authorized recipient using the correct Recovery Phrase or passphrase.
You are responsible for deciding what content you share and with whom.
7. Encrypted Backups
Velo allows you to export and import encrypted backup files (.vlbackup).
Backup files remain encrypted.
Only someone with the correct Recovery Phrase can restore and decrypt the backup.
You are responsible for securely storing your backup files and Recovery Phrase.
8. Subscriptions and Purchases
Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime Premium purchases are securely processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
We never receive or store:
• Apple ID credentials
• Payment information
• Billing details
• Purchase history
Purchase validation is securely managed using Apple's StoreKit services.
9. Your Privacy and Control
You remain in complete control of your data.
You may revoke Photo Library, Files, Face ID, or iCloud permissions at any time through the iOS Settings app.
You may permanently delete encrypted files whenever you choose.
Deleting the app removes locally stored app data from your device. If iCloud Sync is enabled, encrypted data stored in your iCloud account should also be managed through your Apple account and iCloud settings.
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy as Velo evolves or introduces new features.
Any changes will be reflected on this page together with the updated Effective Date.
