After School Sports
2023-2024 School Year
All student-athletes that participate in After School Sports at Valley Center Middle School must have a completed and verified Athletic Clearance Packet turned in prior to tryouts. The deadline for Athletic Clearance Packets (including Medical Physical) is usually one week before the tryout date.
Due Dates for Athletic Clearance Packets will be posted on the After School Sports page and announced at school.

FALL SPORTS- Volleyball, Flag Football, Co-Ed Cross Country
TRYOUTS for fall sports will be Monday, 9/11 and Tuesday 9/12 from 3:15-4:45 for volleyball and flag football. Cross country is open to ALL and will also begin 9/11 with practice from 3:15-4:15.
Athletic Clearance packets for fall sports are due Friday, September 8th. If a student does not have a COMPLETED athletic clearance packets turned in they will NOT be able to participate in tryouts.
The Fall season is early. It will last until the end of October.
Practices are after school Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:15-4:45 for (3:15-4:15 for cross country).
Most games and cross country meets are on Thursdays. Below is the game/meet schedule.
WINTER SPORTS- Boys Varsity and JV Basketball and Varsity Girls Soccer
Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:15-4:45 except on game days. Practice will NOT be held on early release days.
Most games will be Tuesdays starting in the new year 2024. We do have a couple games on Wednesday and Friday before the winter break. The schedule is attached below. The season goes until mid February.
SPRING SPORTS- Girls Varsity and JV Basketball, Boys Varsity Soccer, and Co-Ed Track and Field
Please come prepared with proper athletic gear and water.
Practices will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:15-4:45. Game schedule will be attached below.
Below is the athletic clearance packet for 2023-2024 school year. The packet must be complete with ALL pages signed and the medical clearance. Students also need a copy of the FRONT and BACK of their medical insurance card.

VCMS does not provide transportation to or from games. Parents must transport their own children.
Many athletes rely on other parent volunteer's to drive them to games.
If you are able and willing to volunteer we would love your help!
Please fill out the attached "Field Trip by Private Vehicle" form.
Remember to attach a copy of your current automobile insurance policy, current registration and drivers license.
These need to be completed and verified ahead of time, so please turn them into your child's coach at least 3 days before you plan to drive.
