I am Dr. Varun Saxena (Ph.D. (Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Guwahati, India)), and I worked as a National Post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. I've been involved in the fabrication of a variety of biomaterials for a range of biomedical uses. Designing multifunctional nano-biomaterials with different functions and examining their interfacial interactions allow me to fine-tune their biological responses, such as their antimicrobial activity, anti-cancerous activity (via hyperthermia), target efficacy, and tissue interactions. My goal is to create biomaterials that can be applied to tissue engineering, nanomedicine, and drug delivery with a lower risk of rejection owing to self-immunity. My objective is to give society the most biocompatible biomedical care possible while still keeping costs at a minimum, and to pass on the knowledge I have learned to younger generations.
