About Me

I am Vartika Singh, a Senior Research Analyst in the Natural Resources and Resilience Unit of the International Food Policy Research Institute, in New Delhi. I have also held the position of Senior Research Officer at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India from June 2019 until June 2024.

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and I am a guest researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). My research interests revolve around the nexus of food-water-energy and land. I utilize tools such as CGE and PE models to assess the integrated impact of water, energy, and climate policies, which contribute to the development of sustainable transformation pathways for India. These activities constitute the core of my Ph.D. dissertation work and are part of the Nexus-Gains Initiative under the One-CGIAR umbrella.

In the past, I have also worked on applied behavioral microeconomic experiments aimed at addressing barriers to sustainable intensification of agriculture as part of the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) project. I hold a Master's degree in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, India, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hindu College at Delhi University, India.
